Hotel

Was discussing hotels yesterday & the fact if the reception area could maintain social distancing then why haven't they been allowed to open earlier. Rooms are cleaned after each stay. Maybe room service buffet style breakfast?

Hotels abroad arnt allowed to do buffet food anymore. I also saw room service was a no go things have to put outside the guests bedroom doors. I read about this a few weeks ago

That's good news, especially after hearing what's happened to the Assheton Arms, and others, today.

Yep sad news. Often went to The Farmers at Great Ecc and have eaten at the Assheton Arms a few times. Hopefully they will get rescued and can reopen.

I've had e mails over the last 2 weeks from hotels in the lakes saying they are opening on 4th july.

My daughter works at the imperial, she’s known for two weeks they are reopening on the 4th July Also had it confirmed over the weekend that my local is opening on the 4th😁👍🏻🍺

Likewise, I have had e-mails from Premier Inn, Travel lodge, a place in St Annes we use when down watching the mighty and a hotel on the South Coast we use a lot. I am pretty sure the Prem Inn e-mail was a good while ago.

Good man Wizz:
Eyt all, sup all, pay nowt; And if ivver tha does owt fer nowt – Allus do it fer thissen. 😀

Sad to hear about pubs in Pendle/Burnley going into administration ,local connection there with the Neve family owning them .
Chris still runs his fish factory in codwood .
Jocelyn Neve was good to deal with when our company produced the pendle guide a couple of years back.

The Fenwick Arms, OO’s favourite watering hole at Claughton is also owned by the Seafood Company and has closed. Spent a good chunk of my life living a couple of miles from the Fenwick, but only been it twice.

End of the day, the hoteliers have about 4 months tops to turn a disaster in to just a very bad year. Good luck to them.

Shame about the Neve chain, we've been to a few of them over the years.
They'll only be ** Nandos left when this is all over.

plenty of hotels have been open throughout the lockdown.. They state on websites etc that its only for key workers but they never ask for proof.

Room service and the bar open in many of them..
