Hottest Game you've ever been to?

Late 80s, I was in Milan for a wedding. First game of the season was the day after, so we got tickets for Inter. There were still terraces (prior to the Italia 90 upgrade) and we ended up stood in the sun on the terraces with no cover for the full game. Temperature was still mid 30s in September.

Never experienced anything similar since.
 
I remember Halifax away 1st game of the season, could had been in the old Div 4 ? very hot and the old bill kept us on the coach for about a hour before they let us get off and go into the ground, it was like sitting in a sauna, We won but can't remember the score, pitch invasion at the end.

There was a ridiculously early start time, so we were in Halifax hours before. Police wouldn't let us go in the pubs, so we were put back on the coach for about 2 hours. They brought the dog squad out, and there was two officers on the door. Had to go to the toilet under guard!

Had a chat with them. We've been brought in from Leeds to protect you from Halifax's loonies, they had a bit of a do with Huddersfield in a friendly last week.

When we mentioned that there would be about 3-4k Pool here today, he looked rather crestfallen.

It was Junior ratings v Senior ratings & H'officers'
The ball(s) were tightly rolled up rags covered with heavy duty black gaffer tape, and the game was played on the helo flight deck... (as you can imagine, when the 'ball' went out of play, another ball was required...!'
The teams were constantly rotated due to the steel decking being so hot that the player's footwear was melting, and if the gaffer tape ball remained static for more than a few seconds, then it stuck fast to the deck... 🥵

As I recall, the air temp was over 110', and the deck temp was around 125'....

This 'game' qualifies as a game I've been to btw, as initially I was merely a spectator, but I was elevated to player due to a number of junior ratings footwear totally disintegrating!!

yes it was that one mate. They shut part of the tube as the heat had melted/distorted the track lines - crazy hot and as you say we played in the black 😭

Yeah it was Astley Tours, funny thing was Dave Beaties coach turn up just after & they let them go to the pub.

Yes that was a cracking weekender in Brighton. Went from the game to sitting outside a pub after. Looked in the mirror back at the hotel to get greeted by a lobster looking back at me!!
