How bad was the challenge on Grimshaw?

I have checked the highlights but can't see the challenge that put Grimshaw onto a stretcher needs ozygen by their player who scored the winning goal. Was he booked.?

Game restarted with a drop ball. No foul according to the idiot in charge.

Plenty seem to think it was deliberate I can’t see it myself just an unfortunate collision and hopefully Grimmy is back soon. Ref didn’t even see it as a foul.

I’am not saying it was deliberate but he could have easily pulled out but he didn’t he knew exactly what he was doing which is very naughty indeed.

Agree with that, looked blatant to me but everyone see things differently I think Archer was a very lucky boy.

I doubt whether Grimmy will be available for Saturday as I think there will be some form of recovery programme after a concussion.

He went over to the PNE bench several minutes after the game had been stopped and got a low 5 from one of the trainer's. Make what you want of that but it happened 😤

My immediate thought was that Grimshaw was clearly getting to the ball well ahead of Archer, and Archer could easily have avoided any contact.

Whether he deliberately tried to do Grimshaw only he will know, but it certainly looked like he did.

Not sure it was deliberate, just a bit late, obviously he didn't want to knock him out, nothing that a thousand strikers wouldn't do.

Sorry.

I assume we were all there not just watching on TV? My recollection from behind the goal is that he jumped with one foot but not the other, it was always Grimmy's ball and the challenge was needless and dangerous, then he rolled around a bit to fool the ref as that's the easy bit in this league!

Saw the highlights earlier, archer could easily have jumped over him as grimmy was always going to win the ball, fkin cnut !!!!

Archer took a heavy blow to his leg from which left him writhing around for a few seconds. Grimmy had the ball in his arms at the time of impact. I doubt Grimmy headbutted his leg on purpose.

I thought it was accidental at first, but other PNE players were late in tackles throughout the match. A few bookings aside, they largely got away with it. On another day could have seen a couple of reds.

So deliberate then. By choosing not to avoid the contact he chooses to endanger the goalkeeper. He has chosen to wantonly endanger the safety of a fellow professional.

I don’t think for one minute he deliberately set out to put Grimshaw in hospital.
Yes he left his foot/knee in but there’s a big difference here.

No, I'm afraid there isn't. The important part is the decision. Once that is made, any outcome is on the table. The keeper in those situations is defenceless and at the mercy of momentum. Hitting him in the head isn't a guarantee, but certainly a foreseeable outcome.

We’ll we’re going to have to agree to disagree.
The incident has long gone it’s history and the man who counted (the referee) saw it differently.

Deliberate as far as I'm concerned. Dan had the ball in his control so I turned away before Archer made his challenge. This was obviously very late and avoidable. As such the ref should have taken action, and that action should have resulted in a sending off.
I have no time for their players , and no respect for cheats of which category Archer obviously belongs. His attitude stinks as demonstrated by his celebration of the goal, Absolutely no remorse shown and no respect for his fellow professionals.
