How many Pool tomorrow?

When was the last time we had a regular 10k fan base?
Where are our loud and proud supporters, many on here are happy to laugh at anything Scotish but when they get the opportunity?
PL and the four year bounce after and still friendlies where poorly attended.
Will you be there?

I find non competitive friendlies to be generally uninteresting to watch.
Some like to attend to see how new players are fitting in, others like to attend simply because they live locally and it's a Pool game to watch.
Sorry, but we're not going to the expense of travelling from Cheshire, lunch, parking etc, when we can watch on live stream for £6 & still enjoy it (unless we play like we did against dirty Leeds) 🧡

Must admit that friendlies don’t exactly whet my appetite anymore. As a kid it was incredible when we played Athletic Bilbao or got a friendly against what was then considered a ‘big’ team (at the time Blackburn) but the reason me and the old man are going tomorrow was primarily just to give him an excuse to get out for a pint but also to see how the new signings are shaping up…. So that hasn’t exactly worked out ! Next season I hope we can try get something a little more interesting lined up to attract a decent home crowd. Hosting a big European club at Bloomfield Road would be quite a spectacle again.

Chance to to see Rangers who we would never otherwise play. Chance to watch from different part of ground ( clutching at straws cos no signings... yet anyway) basically a chance to watch BFC on a Saturday afternoon, mean two of us (season ticket holders) will be traveling down from Cumbria as usual :)

Remember Bilbao,we won but they were superb
Made an impression as I went to their home match against Athletico Madrid a few years ago on a weekend break.
Looking forward to seeing how the youth do as I am sure they will get game time

Be lucky if 3000 get sold.

None of my season tickets chums bothering. Lack of any new faces will have hit sales too.
The N, corner and west holds a bit over 7k. We've got aprox half of block Q so call it 7k capacity.

Then we have people in hospitality.

This is what has sold so far.

They'll be more than 3 in that not including hospitality yet. Probably closing on on 5k so far then add hospitality to that.

Theres going to be an awful lot of Rangers fans in the home end. I imagine 30-50%. Likely closer to 10000 Rangers fans at Bloomfield Road tomorrow afternoon rather than the 7000 allocation. I wouldn’t read too much into it though. As long as there’s no trouble and no damage done it’s an extra £200k in the clubs coffers.

A very good point. No, we wouldn't otherwise play Rangers and it's a chance to see how Appleton's Pool are developing.
Good on you.

If I lived in Blackpool I’d go. I don’t so I’ll save my money for travelling to home and away games.

Dunno if I’ll watch on Tangerine TV. Leeds put me off a bit. Not like there’s any new players to check out. Hope those going enjoy it

I still can't believe how many rangers fans are still wanting tickets... and travelling hoping to get one. Mental... all for a friendly.

Rangers reached a European final this year. Are Rangers not a big European club? I'd say they are a massive European club with massive world wide support including thousands in Blackpool.

They are. But they’re on the same level as when Fulham reached the European cup final. They’re just not an exciting draw. Perhaps it’s because the SPL is about on par with the EFL and because as much as Rangers and Celtic may try they’d never be much more than a mid-table Prem team. Maybe it’s because they’re only up the M6 and the thought of playing them seems quite normal. Maybe it’s because we’ve played them recently(ish). Either way Rangers just aren’t an exciting pre-season friendly. They’re a massive club with a global fan base just not an exciting big European club as I’d define it.
Feyenoord, Seville, HSV Hamburg, Boavista, Fiorentina, Bordeaux etc. These are clubs probably much smaller than Rangers or Celtic but in my eyes and I imagine most Pool fans would be a lot more exciting than Rangers.

I'd say they're top end championship standard at
the moment so it'll be a good indicator of where we're at.

Hopefully none of this two halves two teams nonsense. We need our best 11 out to see where we're light.

ticket and shirt bought. Id expect Appleton to have some sort of idea of the players he will likely play in 2 weeks. Id expect most of them to get 60 minutes or so and then change over

They'd struggle to make the play offs in the championship.
I've never been to a pre season friendly for years , the summer's short enough without spoiling it with football. First league game of the season for me and nothing before and I don't panic myself 4 times a day that we haven't signed anybody either.
A lovely day for sitting in the garden for a break between the T20 finals and the open golf. Football can definitely wait.
