Will Boris have the b*lls to scrap it ?
What started as £46m is already up to £108m and they haven’t got out of London yet.
We are looking at £300m at least, and with a locked down Economy, something is going to have to give.
There in NO business case for it, and Boris knows it.

Already announced an early start as a big infrastructure project will be a boost to the economy.

A project that sums up the current government . . . all vanity and headlines over common sense.

A total waste of money and foolish to go ahead even before the virus . . . it would be obscene if this still goes ahead but as Wiz has already pointed out they seem to be cracking on regardless.

What gets me is they are planning it up to 2040.
I’d want nothing less than flying cars and teleportation by then, not just slightly quicker trains. 😁

The West Coast main line is full - as lots of goods are transported on it.

Granted less people traveling should free up some space BUT....

will it be enough and if you want less trucks on the roads it has to go somewhere.

Things are not always as straight forward as it seems, hence I am on the fence about this currently.

Teleportation would be great instead though!!!
