Huddersfield v Blackpool Official Matchday Thread 26.12.21

Should really be game over at the half time stage. Some lovely flowing moves from Pool. Really encouraging performance. See if they can continue it for another 45

Good half of football - Carey, Bowler & Yates have all looked superb. Only negative is that Gabriel has looked very poor defensively, loads of room down that left side. I'd bring Sterling on at the break. UTP

Did I just hear Chizzy correctly?
Talking to Clark Carlisle about who was booked for Huddersfield.
Carlisle said he thought if was Toffilo, to which Chizzy replied, "I've backed the wrong horses in the raffle then"!

WTF🤪🤯

Whatever the comments, this is a cracking performance, so far, by Blackpool and a spirited fighting display from the Terriers which all makes for a terrific game. Hopefully we can continue in the same vein in the second half. They're there for the taking.

I think this shows that we don't need 2 defensive midfielders, one is enough, we have been outstanding so far today and we look so much better as an attacking force than being too defensive.
I know what you are saying Herts but it all depends on the opposition and how they set up
Because it is working ok up to now it isn’t necessarily the way to set up for every game.

Enjoyable half of football that. Had a bit of everything. Need Gabriel to get his positioning better in the 2nd to stop those crosses coming in. Going forward though we look superb! Like chalk n cheese compared to the Derby game

A cracking half, 2 teams who want to play fast attacking football. We deserve our lead but this is far from over and as much as I'd hope it is, I can't see the 2nd half being any different. We need a 3rd! 🍊🍊🍊

A load of dockers against the culture club. Could have been out of sight. Hopefully the best is yet to come with the lads kicking into the Tangerine end second half and all the seaside santas in the crowd delivering a Boxing day prezzo 🍊🎅

And a few other games as well !!

Gabriel is struggling today defensively, maybe put Dujon on to make it more solid at the back.
Just before he conceded the free kick at the end of the first half, he was intentionally blocked off by one of their players when trying to get to the winger. I think the challenge was late as a result, but I think he's taken one for the team there.

I was a bit surprised when I saw the line up, it looked far more attacking than Critch's usual line up, but it's been a brilliant half. Carey has been very good (playing it on the floor rather than it being booted over his head helps).
Disappointed Keshi didn't get his header on target, but he's been excellent. His tracking back has been very good, he's played a few balls from the LB position today, which has been good because their winger has beaten Hubby for pace once or twice.

Well after 55 minutes fighting to renew my TTV subscription I’m finally into the stream 😅

We look very dangerous going forward and created 6 maybe 7 strong chances there. The line up today promotes that.

Flip side is we look more vulnerable than usual. There’s gaps through central midfield and down our right side when Gabriel and Bowler Bomb forward.

This could go either way. We need a third to give a nice gap

Good game. Could have been four all.
Hopefully we will get something out of the game from here.
I think Huddersfield will be fancying their chances of getting back into this though.
If we could get the next goal, maybe he needs to make a change or two to try and shore the defence up a bit.

Eyre's is really giving Gabriel some real stick and he has a point, the fact Bowler doesn't give him any support, I think Sterling needs to come on a shore it up and let Bowler get on with it.

I think Gabriel is best going forward and needs some support in front and he hasn't got that. I think Eyre's is being too harsh now, although there is no doubt Sterling is the better defender but not as good going forward.

Disgraceful decision. From where I'm sat anyway.

First was a yellow, that looked clean or at most a foul but no yellow.
