I’ve been tested positive for COVID 😢

I’ve had 2 lateral flow tests and both of them are positive, when will this nightmare end?! I’ve been double jabbed, so this could’ve been worse if I didn’t get jabbed, so if those of you that didn’t get jabbed or not thinking of getting a jab then do yourselves a massive favour and do get jabbed, please trust me you won’t regret it.

When are you going to have a PCR test to confirm your thoughts?
I had a PCR 2 hours after my lateral flow was positive.
Come out of self isolation on the 28th of this month meaning I miss the Barnsley match.
Feel like shit 1st thing in morning but clears up then knocks me for 6 again late afternoon.
Reckon I contracted it at the specials gig.
No check on the door when entering the venue.

Well said 👍

Hope it's not too shitty and you're feeling well soon.

I just got one booked for tomorrow between 11am and 11:30am

Both my girls are just coming out of the other side of it after just over a week. Neither jabbed.

I’m still covid free, double jabbed, though spent the weekend with them immediately prior to them testing. However, another pal of theirs who is double jabbed has it too now and she’s had it before !

We will have to learn to live with this and in my opinon getting jabbed is the best way to lower your chances of infections and reduce your symptoms.
Get well soon buddy 👍

It's down to things like this that Yorkshire Seasiders are now requesting everyone to have a Lateral Flow Test 24 hours before travelling with us. Unfortunately we have had some cases in the group, with other members having to isolate, but mostly recovered. We also have one member with long COVID who also lost his father to the disease, plus a number of 'those at risk' travelling with us.

Good luck in your recovery BH2211.

I caught it at the end of July. I was ok apart from the first couple of days when I felt like I was constantly pissed (not a bad thing some might say ) Then towards the end of the 10 day isolation period I lost my sense of smell & taste that's still not returned .

I was surprised at that as well. We had our phones ready with proof of double vax etc etc and no-one checked. Yet on the Friday at the Nick Cave gig, they were asking for proof. It didn't stop me going in though tbf.

Are your daughters now going to get the jab Lala ?

Does seem a strange rallying call to get those who've not been vaccinated if a youngster reading that someone double jabbed and now had Covid can't see it changing their mind.

Better with the previous blackmailing policy of stopping them going into Nightclubs.

I haven’t asked them yet 😩 One of them is struggling more than the other as its hit her sinuses pretty badly now so she may 🤨 the younger one has had a heavy cold with a bit of a temperature and cough and is on the mend now so she may be more reluctant to.

Will broach it with them at the weekend , but as adults I still don’t hold any sway with what they decide.

My Grandson poorly in bed after testing positive. He's more worried about missing the Barnsley game than taking his meds! Bless him.

Colleague at work was double jabbed as was her partner, he got it passed it to his five year old who has health issues, he and his sone ended up in hospital, but are thankfully now ok. My colleague was very ill, and was now just about ok, until yesterday. Her parents both got it, both double ja but, mother’s just I’ll, but her father was taken to hospital last Thursday and sadly died yesterday.

Aye its their choice ,all you can do is advise them .👍

At 21 and 28 I think you might struggle !!
Nah, I'd do my scary look, I've been practicing in Asda.

'Have you got a new car Dad'

'No Stanley and Bloomington, it's a van, have at look a the space in the back....'

Sorry to hear that my condolences to her and family. It does however sadly show how deadly this can be, my family are currently shielding due to my wife’s ongoing chemotherapy but I’m becoming increasingly frustrated and near angry at people sneering etc because we still wear masks and ask others to do so when in and around our business/ home.

Im in a similar situation to yourself NewHolland. Wife has developed a serious lung condition over the last year or so (suspect it could have been Covid but never confirmed) however we both wear a mask when we go anywhere where we need to go indoors with other people, and the looks and comments we get from some people is just unnecessary.
Had my Mums funeral last week, and even though mask wearing was encouraged, we were the only ones wearing them (out of 40 people). All other attendees said they were not needed as they were double jabbed now, and still queried why we were still using, even after we had explained the reasons.
Before any one tries to explain the low risk, I understand, however its a risk Im not going to take on just yet, and we know too many cases close to home, where friends and colleagues have lost loved ones to Covid or are suffering from long Covid.

Aw I’m sorry to hear that, hopefully the people who won’t get jabbed because of selfish reasons I don’t know, will now start to listen, send my condolences to your colleague and her family 😢

Hope your wife gets through all this, and I agree about those not wearing make. I had a customer yesterday who I asked to wear a mask because I was taking him into an enclosed room and he said I don’t neons, I’m double jabbed. They just don’t get it.

Sorry to hear about your mum. Best wishes to your wife, hope things improve for you both. Basically we find ourselves locking away from society since so called freedom day.Don't get me wrong, it’s good and necessary for normality to return but disappointing how quickly people forget.

Thank you Matesrates much appreciated. Yep your experience with that customer is all too familiar, sadly.

I know two workmen who were adamant they wasn’t getting the vaccine they didn’t get the vaccine and both ended up seriously ill although one recovered I dont know about the other one as yet

I choose not to wear a mask but if I am asked to do so I have no argument, there are still people who feel/are susceptible to the virus. Good luck to anybody currently suffering.

Within the next week I am having 3 different Jabs.
Blood sample at Docs.
Covid, 3rd Jab. (booster)
Anti-Flu.
I'll be like a bloody pin cushion. 😾

I think mask wearing depends on where you are as to how people view it.
In Lake District for a few days and you would struggle to be admitted to many shops without a mask

Eagleday.
I had Shingles in 2013. Still suffer certain effects, which will last my lifetime, I think
I had the jab a few years ago, but that's it I think.
