I actually feel sorry for Appleton and the current squad of players

And there was me thinking Critchley signed Kevin Stewart
A great player who was key to our promotion..... The thing with King Critter was that pretty much anyone could slot into his system and do a job.... Hopefully we'll scrape through this season, but I fear we need to spend at least £5M on better players....

If I don't start seeing some ambition in terms of strengthening the playing squad then I won't be renewing my season tickets next season

We are a Championship club with League one players and a League One budget

The next transfer window is massive as going down would be a disaster
And people like you won't improve the budget by leaving.
I admit that I've threatened the same in the past but Simon Saddler is building from zero after what he bought from that family.
Then covid hit.
We are one of the smaller championship club's but in terms of stature we are a million miles ahead of where we were 5 years ago when those amateurs were running the club.
It's difficult right now but keep the faith. 👍

Having a season ticket is a privilege it's not a given and I will decide at the end of the season like I always do if I renew or not based on several factors

I understand what you’re saying. I was particularly disappointed in the Colby Bishop/Simms events. I back the manager and the squad and I feel that luck has not been on our side with regards to injuries.

I also wouldn’t call Patino a sub standard loan. He’s been class and is improving. Perhaps you weren’t referring to him.

Generally, as a fan, I am a lot happier with on and off the pitch affairs compared to the Oyston days.
thanks Graves for your response i thought i’d need the proverbial tin hat. That’s why i put a “few” i certainly wasn’t referring to Charlie and also i still think there is a player in Theo.
I agree, i am generally happy as a fan these days but we could have e been in a far healthier position with a little more investment on the pitch.

Correct

It was obvious we needed and wanted a striker yet failed to get one

See above with a right back and central midfield player

It does appear that everytime someone is critical of the board the Oystons get mentioned

It's fcuking weird that we seemingly aren't allowed to voice concerns over our transfer dealings when it's clear we are lacking in certain key positions
i agree, i just hope by January we are not cut a drift and either way we invest in a little quality to strengthen the cause. Granted any team would struggle with the amount of injuries we have had and for that the current crop need some praise for their efforts.

the business we have done in permanent players is well below where we need it to be to move up a level from where we are at the moment ie) maintain a consistent position challenging for the lower play off positions. It can’t be done overnight but we didn’t do enough to stop us treading water and hoping for the best after what was always inevitably going to be the loss of Bowler. You can only tread water for so long in choppy waters before you sink beneath the waves (relegation) or lay flat on your back and hope rescue comes out of nowhere before it’s too late (another top draw loan)

I’m sure the club were in shock about Critchley and thought they had a few Irons in the fire that then didn’t come through so I haven’t lost all patience, but we need to be more active and impressive on the player front in January with one or two quality additions up front and at the back, and some proper numbers in the summer.

A repeat of this years nightmare won’t be enough In my view

I suppose it’s the boards fault half our squad has got the shits 🙄

I’m perplexed by people saying we’ve got a league one squad. Didn’t those players get promoted out of league one and then stay in the championship comfortably?

Remember they did all that with a terrible manager according to Phil, so they can’t be that bad, right?

If you are happy with the transfer window and having to play a patched up Madine every week and a midfield player at right back than crack on

Everything is fine ....
