I won't be buying any season tickets if McCarthy is still in charge next season

I didn't enjoy Tuesday and I didn't enjoy Saturday

I will try again this Saturday and again away at Swansea

The football is gash though and I'm starting to think is it really worth the hassle in travelling
We’re also travelling down to Swansea and Blackburn as we did to Middlesboro. Sheffield Burnley Huddersfield etc

What are your demands/wishes for the next season then ? Other than MM not being in the dugout (which I for one don’t think he will be regardless of division)
I want to see some sort of planning and some sort of clear strategy as since probably last January something seems to have changed with the club

I don't think Critchley was backed last January and ultimately he left to take a lesser position

I want to know if Sadler is still in it for the long haul and I want to know if his ambition is still the same as when he joined

The last 2 manager appointments have gone against everything we were told when Sadler first came in

For me, we need the club’s policy on transfers, youth and style of play nailing down.
You can’t just come out with the statement ‘The Blackpool Way’ and then have no recognisable strategy.
To a large extent, this season is what it is now with position in the league and McCarthy.
After that, what is the long term plan and strategy? What is ‘The Blackpool Way’?

Is it another name for Seasiders way.

Will see ....

I just hope the club are looking at somebody else who can take us forward and get this project back on track
That's what I said and it's crucial that they are doing that now and tbh I'm sure they will be.
I don't actually think the next appointment should be dependent on which Division we are in either. They just need to find the right person and I'm not pretending that will be easy.

The league we are in is irrelevant as I've watched us in all 4 league's. I'm just not willing to waste my time and effort trapesing up and down the motorway every week to watch a load of big lads just launch the ball into orbit

It's the worst football I've ever seen at Bloomfield Road

And I've seen some right shite with Jimmy Mullen, Sam Ellis, Colin Hendry, Lee Clark, McDonald etc etc

It's dog shit ......
Would real supporters of our beloved Club please stand up and be counted even for the new Manager who’s been in charge for all of 2 league matches

It's not easy but there are only so many head coach jobs in England that pay more than 250k a year or so, and many aspiring coaches working in the game. What's really not easy is sustaining a club in the Championship with a bottom 3 budget, with clubs in the league below that have bigger budgets.

Sadler seems unusually risk averse for a hedge fund manager. Maybe he specialises in pension funds! Grayson, Appleton and McCarthy! The one gamble on a younger less experienced guy worked out well. Yet Evatt wasn't experienced enough apparently. Rosenior us going well at Hull, in his 30s. The game has moved on.

Can't argue with how poor the football was on Tuesday, but I ended up really enjoying it because of the last ten minutes, left feeling on a high.

I think this thread will become a salient point in the summer though, no matter what division we're in. People won't continue to pay money for dog rough football week in week out.

You're about 4 months too early with this one Phil, because I love the club I want the best for it. The best at the minute is staying in the Championship, I think MM gives us a huge lift to do that, by hook or by crook. Towards the end Appleton had lost the ability to drag results like Tuesday night out of the squad.

As I say this thread needs to become a big topic in the summer.
What whether Phil get's a season ticket or not? Quite frankly I couldn't give a flying toss what he does or anybody else for that matter. If he wants to down tools because he isn't being entertained anymore then good for him. Like the football under Appleton was any better. It was painful to watch. But that doesn't fit the agenda.

It's a personal decision. Starting a thread like this is just nothing short of attention seeking and cries out 'look at me'.

MM has my full support in trying to keep us in the championship. But he needs to win on Saturday or it's a lost cause.
As for the future - who knows?
I've been a supporter for over 50 years & seen the good, bad & the ugly. My wife the same and my daughters & grandson follow suit.
As a fantastic club, we've had & will continue to have our up's; however, due to our limited income, with no likelihood of financial growth, we'll always suffer more downs.
There's no solution to that, other than one day we may be owned by a very wealthy owner!
That's life as a Seasider. After a victory, you feel fantastic, after a loss you hate Saturdays (or Tuesdays).
If we can avoid relegation this season, it's as good as winning promotion.
From the day you're introduced to Bloomfield Road, & transfused with tangerine blood, you've a supporter until you die - there is no way out.
All we can do is wish for everything to improve & presently, some good news about our playing future would be most welcome.

No you miss my point, maybe I didn't set it out clearly enough and that's my fault.

It's not about Phil, he does what he does and people take the bait every time, I comment on what I think has merit and leave the stuff that I think doesn't - My personal choice.

As I say, this isn't really for now, it's for the summer. As baity as some of his threads are this one has a central point about the direction of the club.
It is course too early to make judgements on MM and next season yet, but the club management must have been shaken to their core by this season and really need to sit down and think about what they're doing in the short and medium term to achieve what they have tacitly promised in the long term.

I agree I don't really care what others do, it's their choice and I'd likely go watch 'Pool if we're in National League North playing hoofball because that's what I'm like, not withstanding that, if next year, I'm sat on my tod watching the games because no one else wanted to pay to watch poor standards of football, that's now an issue for me because as I say, I love the club. I want it to thrive.

We need to decide if we're just going to lump it and survive for the next 3/5 years whilst the club organically grows, fan base wise and infrastructure wise or do we carry on with the same principles as we left last season with?

For every action there's an equal and opposite reaction, if we lump it, we may lose fans as the standard and entertainment levels drop that's a fact of life raging at fans that have different values or outlooks on how they spend money and time wont change that, if we try this creative youth approach who knows but it sure as shit not worked this year.

I've waffled a bit here, but my point is now is not really the time for this we have to all pull together to scrape up, then the top tier of management do need to rethink how they operate at this level as I think much of their preordained ideas have become unstitched this year.

If his threads really bother you that much, just don't read them, I ignore half of it and like I say comment on bits that I think matter. As like him or loath him, he has a way of getting discussions going on the club that no other poster has.

Dear Phil,

I don't know you personally, but as a fellow seasider i feel your anguish on here everyday. For your own well being i would love to see you post more positively....so that all said.
Please could you say 3 nice things about Uncle Mick.

Ps.....My nan used to have a plaque on the wall.

Don't worry it may never happen.

14:00 11/02/2023 will tell us more if MM can be trusted to evolve or if it could go down in BFC infamy.
I have moved my judgement day forward now after Tuesday's mind-numbing team and tactics in the hope an old Dog can be taught new tricks.

Rotherham away? Watford away? And that's just this season. 1970s York in the rain etc etc

I'm a Nobber (if some of you didn't already know) but fuck me, you're ** boring mate.

No idea how Blackpool fans put up with your constant boring posts. Every single post is negative, this and that, my god.

If you don't want a season ticket next season, that's fine. No need to publish it on a forum ffs. Very 'pick me' this post.

Your team are in a relegation scrap and all you're doing is slagging off the managers football. If it gets you out of it, who is arsed?

He’s a run chase merchant and to be fair you can’t argue with the results.

Phil do you just decide straight away whether or not you like a manager and just stick with that view no matter what?

I post on here every morning whilst I'm on the train

Isn't the site all about people posting their views and opinions
You could do us all a favour Phil and just observe the scenery whilst you are on the train. 😉
So as a fan of Appleton would you have renewed regardless if we stayed up or got relegated?
Supporting a team includes taking the rough with the smooth, so you won’t spend anymore money if MM stays which implies that if he goes you will spend some money
That Phil is fickleness of the highest order.

I wasn't a fan of Appleton I just defended him against some of the ridiculous comments against him

And I haven't said I won't spend money at all I've just said I won't renew my season tickets

You can still support the club whilst not having a season ticket you know

Traipsing. That autochecker is a bastard.

One match and it's the worst football you've ever seen at Bloomfield Rd? Really?

I've seen worse earlier this season, including the capitulation against Middlesbrough before Christmas. Reading at home anyone? And we won that one.

you're making it really obvious that you're only interested in baiting replies

No sorry disagree

Atl least in the poor games this season and I agree there have been a few we have tried to play football, badly at times I agree

At least we showed intent to keep possession of the football

We haven't tried to play any football under McCarthy it's just long ball hoof

It's awful

Personally, having a wide open centre meaning teams can score easily against us has been a constant source of frustration, as it was obvious to remedy. There was nothing entertaining about walking from the ground thoroughly depressed after another supine performance.

As for hoofball, both of our goals last night were from players receiving the ball wide from a ball into space, then working their skills to create chances. Two goals. When was the last time we scored two?

Strange you should say that as McCarthy has managed to equal our highest defeat of the season in his first league game

Remarkable

Oh and we scored 4 they week before the last manger got sacked

Phillip.
I dutifully reproduce some minimal stats every game which clearly you never look at.
On Tuesday we made 333 passes (a huge improvement on Saturday).
Looking back through Appy's tenure (about 36 games) we only exceeded that total NINE times or to emphasise the point we passed the ball less than that in Twenty Seven games in which he was in charge. 451 at Milwall was our best effort which was of course a defeat.
Just saying. 😉

Phil, you've shown you're an expert fisherman buddy - you've netted a load of fish today, even a rare gullible Nobber fish 😄
