What?... an ageing top striker who might not even be here, our best loan player gone and left with Tashan Oakley-Booth for another season - would it be a disaster?
We've no chance of going up now morphing into we'd be stuffed if we did. Novel.... an ageing top striker who might not even be here, our best loan player gone and left with Tashan Oakley-Booth for another season - would it be a disaster?
It’s all irrelevant, we won’t be going up. Mid table at best this season and unless we start looking beyond free/ released players we will be in this league for a long time.... an ageing top striker who might not even be here, our best loan player gone and left with Tashan Oakley-Booth for another season - would it be a disaster?
Yeah it's like the twin towers of ideals. So tonight on the FA Cup it's if we lose it will be good and concentrate on the league. Or we'd be better off if we stayed in L1 for now as we'd be fucked if we go up this seasonWe've no chance of going up now morphing into we'd be stuffed if we did. Novel.
No different from two years ago when we stayed up comfortably. What's the difference now ?I love the championship, the away fans, good players to watch and good football to savor.
Every win is hard earned but the big difference is the quality of players you sign because they come with big wages.
I hate to say it but we would struggle to stay up if we went back up because of the money involved.
We had a far better squad of players then than we do now.No different from two years ago when we stayed up comfortably. What's the difference now ?
We've got better recruitment guys now who should be able to deliver. We had a far better squad of players then than we do now.
The same was said about the guys from Coventry, that went well. We've got better recruitment guys now who should be able to deliver.
Some miserable barstewards on this thread . Hope you cheer up after we tank FGR 5-0 this evening.

the quality between ALL the leagues is widening.,I love the championship, the away fans, good players to watch and good football to savor.

We were pretty much the complete package back then, comfortably managing to hold our own against, reputedly, more illustrious opposition. No different from two years ago when we stayed up comfortably. What's the difference now ?
It's a miracle we've even got this far with a squad of only 3 players!... an ageing top striker who might not even be here, our best loan player gone and left with Tashan Oakley-Booth for another season - would it be a disaster?
But they do it at a large financial loss, I don't think SS wants that for us, I know I don't.As much as I enjoy the championship I want us to be competitive in it. The fact the nobbers have managed this for such a long time does give us hope.
That’s a fair comment they have managed it but at massive financial cost. But they do it at a large financial loss, I don't think SS wants that for us, I know I don't.
We are a club that will generally move up and down between league 1 and the championship, people should just try and enjoy it a bit more.
The atmosphere in Bloomfield has gone very flat, is it the weight of expectation? If it is it isn't helping anybody.
The squad has strength in depth at this level, as evidenced by our cup displays. It’s good enough for promotion but if we keep playing this formation I don’t think we willI honestly don't believe we are good enough to go up. We are much too inconsistent and lack physicality, especially in midfield. Steve Ayres on Mondays Radio Lancashire didn't think so either. Compared to Portsmouth we don't score any thing like enough set piece goals, we are too reliant on Jordon Rhodes for goals and we are not very good at defending set pieces!

The atmosphere has gone as flat as it has at BR, not so much because of the weight of expectation, but, basically, because there is now absolutely zilch happening out on the pitch to add to the matchday experience. In other words - there is no sense of expectation. If we're focussed on anything during the course of the 90 minutes we presently have to endure, it's whether or not we're going to be able to manage a forward pass. But they do it at a large financial loss, I don't think SS wants that for us, I know I don't.

Seems to be a common problem, Klopp complaining about the atmosphere at Anfield, Gary Neville also said he hadn't heard it so muted for a Liverpool v United game. The atmosphere has gone as flat as it has at BR, not so much because of the weight of expectation, but, basically, because there is now absolutely zilch happening out on the pitch to add to the matchday experience. Basically, I'm tempted to add that there is probably more atmosphere on the Moon these days than you're likely to experience down at Bloomers.
There is no prospect of us going up this year - we are nowhere near good enough. We are to inconsistent and there are 7,8 or 9 teams who are better than us. Besides this side/squad is a million miles from a Championship side. We need another two maybe three windows to develop this squad and built a team that can not only win on a consistent badis in Lg1 but that could make the step up and with three or four quality additions consolidate in the Champ.... an ageing top striker who might not even be here, our best loan player gone and left with Tashan Oakley-Booth for another season - would it be a disaster?
a thousand years in the Championship. pricelessAs much as I enjoy the championship I want us to be competitive in it. The fact the nobbers have managed this for such a long time does give us hope.
It will all come out in the wash!Steve Ayres knows nothing. He thinks Fleetwood are too good to go down.

I totally agree with you, CL, and just do not get where this notion of us not being entertaining comes from.Have you actually been to a live game?
We are regularly scoring 3 or 4 goals in the past month or so. We’ve struggled against some clogger teams but banged in a load of goals in the other games.
Most teams fans would kill for that level of entertainment.
Absolutely zilch other than us being one of the highest scorers at home, but keep pushing. The atmosphere has gone as flat as it has at BR, not so much because of the weight of expectation, but, basically, because there is now absolutely zilch happening out on the pitch to add to the matchday experience.
