iFollow Complaints

Read a few on here have complained to iFollow, had a standard reply and then nothing. I’m on my third complaint and had nothing back. Some would say a blessing but on Tuesday I lost iFollow after 20 mins and the footage just kept going back to the start of the game! No apology or refund still.

When iFollow was set up, it probably didn't anticipate every fan of every club using it for every game. Not sure what infrastructure they use but wouldn't be surprised if it wasn't built with current loads in mind.

That's the key. Everything else is superficial fluff but there's definitely something up with the platform as you almost never get 90 mins of buffer free football. I've not had a massive game ruining issue since early in the season and to some extent it's within the user's gift to set it up to work better or worse, but it really should be click a button = stream and that's it - it should be 'youtube simple' so to speak.

The maddest thing for me is when I've had to pay twice. One stream doesn't work, one stream does. That's really bizarre.

I've had 2 problems, paid twice each time.
I reported it to ifollow and each time I was refunded £10. 👍

The only complaint I have is its 30 seconds behind in the North East compared to my mates in Kendal and Windermere and I know what's happening from Whats App then I see if a few seconds later. Tuesday was exhausting. Otherwise it works well, my wi-fi is the only problem occassionally

Six of us are on Whatsapp and I am usually slightly ahead and 1 is usually behind, but apart from me, all the others live close to each other.
So I am of the opinion that the problem is equipment and internet speed related not iFollow.
So we do a kickoff time check so everyone has an idea where we all are all up and don't do spoilers on the app.
The person who lags the most doesn't look at the app until the goal goes in.
I think it also helps to hit the live tab every so often bottom left.

Someone on another board suggested Ctrl + F5 to clear cookies before the start. Seems to improve the quality.

The only problem I have had with ifollow is one early match from BR when there was annoying crackling on the commentators microphone. I used the chat facilty at the side of the screen and a got a response about 10 minutes later to say tgey hwd reported it to the on site crew and they would look at it at half time. They did sort it out then, so pretty decent response. Every other time I hwve used it it has been fine, with no drop otscof sound or vision. I have also found it easy buy a match pass, input a voucher and to log in, whether that is 30 minutes before ko or 2 minutes after it.

I wrote to them three times - didn't get any reply - I genuinely don't think they give a fig. Quick enough to have a go at dodgy streams but not big enough to admit their own faults. They'll just be waiting for this pandemic to be over and then enjoy the fruits of their profits.

Personally, I only have two problems.
1. Time delay on commentary (usually sorted at halftime)
2. Camera work for some matches where they focus in and move the camera too quickly to follow the action. Thus blurring the picture and giving me motion sickness 🤮 😊

The guy on the camera had discovered he had a zoom lens and was following the action too closely with blurring when he tried to follow the ball hoofed up the pitch. He calmed down in the second half.

I'm no IT expert, but I suspect buffering is likely to be an issue at the receiving end rather than the broadcasting end. If it were their fault we'd all get buffered at the same time, which we don't. I've not had any Buffy problems in the last few games.

Me neither, I have laptop linked straight into router, so no buffering at all with 45+mbps.

Which address did you write to Dave? I paid my £10 for the Harrogate game , got a code 100 error message, refreshed , changed browsers, changed devices.. Nowt . Big fat nothing. The complaints system just seems to reroute me back to Blackpool's Ifollow page .

What does WhatsApp provide? In terms of the match I mean.

I'm no techo, but has anyone considered it may be the crap you are watching it on rather than 100% iFollow?
Founts. There is some truth in that HOWEVER I have the BT superfast package, watch on a new, fairly decent laptop and I still have to suppress the quality at 720.
When you get a close up of a player standing still over the ball the picture is great but when the ball is fizzing down the pitch the quality diminishes.
And the commentary was behind for most of the first half.
So all in all it's not great.
I still believe a number of issues that posters raise however are self inflicted from simple things like being logged on to two devices at once, poor broadband and poor hardware.

Honestly, ins, I've had only first world problems with it- couldn't log on to BFC to buy and a bit pixxy on another occasion, which was sorted by a lower res.

It's iFollow not a netflix production.

I'm just really happy it gives me the chance to watch.

It's been okay up until the last couple of weeks.........now it's a few seconds behind the commentary and has buffering problems.

I had one game where I was charged when I had a code, thought it would be a quick email to get it sorted but it wasn't.

Took over a month, had 2 auto responses that weren't related to my issue and then when a human finally did reply they hadn't even bothered to read the first message I'd sent where I had put all the information they needed. Instead they were going on about a completely unrelated date that I had never even mentioned.

Finally got my refund (going via chat 2 hours before a game) but when I first contacted chat they told me it had to be an email but weren't taking no for an answer this time. They managed to sort it in less than 5 mins on chat.... But was absolutely disgusted. Phone lines are never open. I bet there's so many people out there who are in a similar situation.

So I sent a letter of complaint, and like others, they weren't bothered basically.

I paid last night, never got any reception. I used the so called help bubble and the details they gave me for a refund has just resulted in a pathetic load of emails denying responsibility. This is a truly dreadful service.

Complained about the Wimbledon game and got refunded.
The commentary being ahead of the visuals is really annoying and the only answer is to mute Chissy- which isn’t a bad thing!

Apart from an occasional but if buffering and the commentary being out if sync it's worked pretty well for me and I've never been charged twice.

I think people maybe need to understand that this is a shoestring budget affair, a few thousand people paying a tenner doesn't allow for much investment, with 80% of the revenue going to the clubs to help them survive a pandemic.

And for a tenner a game you get a whole new topic to moan about, twice a week! Double value, moan about the football, and moan about the technical failings! Enjoy!

My ' bit of buffering' on Tuesday night was the bit involving the build up and goal. I had to wait for the highlights the next day to see it. You wouldn't believe it really. One minute unavailable out of the ninety five. Not good. Thankfully my euphoric reaction to finding out we were 1-0 up cancelled out my despair at missing the build up and goal, so I was strangely happy and angry at the same time. My dog was well confused.

That's bloody bad luck and very frustrating. Get your dog to complain on your behalf.

I had all kind of problems, especially with away games for some strage reason..then and by chance I changed to a faster broadband with Talk Talk and saved myself some money whilst now being able to watch every game uninterrupted. Just lucky I guess.

I had to make a complaint to the EFL to get my money back, to be fair to the EFL they responded straight away but the providers are truly awful

Tuesday night was the first time I think the commentary matched the action. The Harrogate commentary was really bad especially the home audio. the away was better but not 100%

Astonishingly they refunded my purchase from the Doncaster game because I complained about the quality - took pictures throughout the game and time lined it.
