Interview with Simon Sadler after the 6pm news on Radio Lancs tonight (Tuesday).

He needs to wear different clothes for which area of the ground he's trying to win over, Stone Island and CP Company for the North obviously, 5 layers of Peter Storm fleeces with soup stains down the front for the West and a mix of mid tier walking brands for the South, Berghaus or Rabb mainly, nothing from the technical ranges though with the odd avant-garde weirdo wearing Montane

We have a winner for “post of the year” 🤣

Yeah missed that.

But I did notice something in his expressions.

I reckon some sort of new lounge is coming...
I can see that now - A more middle-aged casual lounge perhaps a pre-match coffee lounge. Perhaps it will be the "I need a Nero" lounge or the "Doesn't Costa lot lounge".

You see I love it when soggy wet arse dipsticks like you post about other people because you don't actually think before you make ridiculous comments like the ones you have just written.

If you read the majority of my posts they are mainly about the football, the games, the squad games now and going back. In amongst those posts there are a few that ask questions of Sadler and Critchley, something that seems to be absolutely taboo for a small number of posters on here.

Now if you were talking about Paulco I could understand it, but I just love the football.... and if anyone can stand the boredom of looking at your past posts they never actually talk about the football matches, the team, the manager, the games in the past, spookily your posts are either bollocks about nothing about football or trying your best to find anyone who dares to criticise the club, and that differ to your opinions. The thing is we don't know what you think of the football or the rest because you don't include that. It is very weird and you are not alone, I guess the football isn't worth talking about for you because you wouldn't care if we lost every game of the season, just so long as no one comments in a negative way about it.
great observation, that last para Herfford. 👍

Maybe we should just support the owner until such time as he puts his own interests above the clubs.
To me he is nothing like the Oystons, he can make plenty of money without BFC whereas for the Oystons BFC became there only asset that they could get significant income from.
Liklihood is BFC costs Sadler money.
Doesn't mean he can't be subjected to constructive criticism, Appleton and particularly McCarthy were terrible decisions and I'm guessing he ultimately signed them off.
Jury is out on Critchley but I could see the sense in it, I just haven't seen the sense in some of Critchleys game by game decisions but that is detail that Sadler won't immediately get involved in.
Ultimately if his intentions are good and put the club first in a financially viable way that's fine, and if a well intentioned billionaire Blackpool fan approaches him to take over sounds like he is good with that.
So I'd say don't go looking for problems that aren't there and just try to give constructive criticism alongside enthusiastic support.
Sorry, but I'm reporting this post to the admins because you're talking too much common sense 😂🤣

The vast majority of Blackpool fans feel the same I suspect . Well said .

It’s impossible to get everything right unless you are a clairvoyant .

Take McCarthy for instance a lot of fans thought it was the right decision and a lot didnt .

On paper the man had a track record of keeping teams in the division from relegation positions .

No one really knew but you have to roll the dice .
But we did know the players that made up the squad, and we did know how McCarthy likes to play and we did know the terrible run of results he had at Cardiff before they sacked him.
Hindsight not needed on this one it was a terrible choice and at least one person with a senior role in professional football was behind it.
Sadler must ultimately have sanctioned it but I hope whoever suggested it is no longer at the club.

I disliked every single thing about the O's, but on the whole I like pretty much everything about SS. I think our playing budget appears to be upper end L1 and above most clubs our size. Care is taken in areas where in the past it was not. Looking after contracts for players proactively, quality loan rather than total novices or cast offs, signing players that other clubs around us want, like Pennington and Joseph, rather than forcing managers to polish the proverbial...

Does he get everything right? Nope. Do I believe he cares and is trying to? Yep. And that'll do for me.
Define “our size”

Great to hear that SS is fully behind NC and that he can take a view beyond the immediacy of this Season and (as he correctly described it) some inconsistency in our results and performances.

I’m not sure if it was Bayes’ best ever interview if I’m being entirely honest.

I know I can be a big soft arse at times but he’s one of our own with his heart in the club and the town.

We know from the accounts the £millions he spends every year and can we really do better barring convincing an oil Barron or tech billionaire to take over and do more?
I agree with your post.
The only thing that puzzles me is why SS doesn't recruit partners to the board, thereby sharing the ever increasing costs?
Maybe he's tried?
Or is it a case of him wanting to retain his 97% ownership so that he recovers as much as possible when eventually he sells?
One things for sure - our club is in safe hands for now.

He’ll certainly do for me……we all know the state of the club when he took over and getting everything in order was never going to be an overnight fix.
Mistakes made, lessons learnt but generally all going forward in the right direction. Good people in place and bit by bit all coming together.
Hopefully a place off place this season, but given the debacle of last season, if that were not to be the case, we would certainly be in a better place next season to give it a good go.

Not a bad interview. He gives real answers. If not this year then next year? What if next year doesn’t happen either? Needs to stop saying you know every other sentence.

Great interview. We are very fortunate to have Simon Sadler as the owner of our great club. He is a realist unlike many so called supporters. Yes, there have been mistakes, that’s life but with SS at the helm, the future is definitely bright. UTMP 🍊

I think this is the format for Simon to use. He comes across positive and balanced in an interview. Never gives an inch though.

Well he wants us up , and quicker the better , otherwise like he said it will cost him even more lol
Am glad he is here , he came across good , he says like us all , still learning and admits as a fan it’s frustrating this season especially with consistency UTMP 🧡

Came across as quite honest, could easily have hidden behind Covid effecting things. Bit disappointed AB didn't get more information about the two big infrastructure projects in particular the training ground. A shame we are stuck with NC so let's hope he takes us up if not this season but next.

Mrs Sadler must be a really understanding and supportive wife. Watching her husband give away £5 to £6 million pounds a year on a project that attracts abuse from his supporters must be puzzling to her 🤣

Joint owners don't tend to work out very well. Remember the Oyston/Belekon combination for a start?

Really good interview and we have a great owner.

Sadly the manager / team is letting him down.

You feel positive listening to that and then another shambles tonight.

OK he brought him in and I wouldnt jave gone back again, but he should be doing better.

I don't want us to keep getting rid of managers, we need consistency, but it's hard to see an effective style of play away from home and at home sometimes.

I've also got to say NC failed after leaving us and did he come back the same? Were his assistants vital in some of the success SS attributes to him, although obviously he was responsible for some.

It's all well and good him saying if not this season he'll have to do it next, but it could be a complete waste of 2 seasons.

He may be a decent developer of players, but is he a good manager? Are we improving, building towards a style? It's hard to see and he seems to struggle to get us to play effective football on the floor.
