no not at all. Certainly think we went over the top with him in the close season and the ridiculous valuation some of our fans were valuing him at. He needs to prove himself in this division before we start talking about a 5 million pound player. That said I do think he'll come back strong. His workrate is incredible and so having a couple of games off won't do any harm. Ans a key is that he needs to start getting some decent service. Today we probably created more clear cut chances than we've done near enough in all our other matches put together. Yates may well have thrived today. Madine didn't pull up any trees when he came on but you can understand Critchleys desire to get the ball to stick when knocked forward. Not many would have predicted that at the start of the season. How do we see him winning his place back?

What about the one he headed on target? That's at least one. He wasn't very good, but talk about jumping on a lad coming back from an injury lay off that's lasted for the best part of 8 months. One poor sub appearance for 17 minutes and he's 'not good enough?'He should have come on hnstead of Madine.
The Goal Machine offered little in my opinion. He didn't leap for one header when he came on and not mobile/quick enough for this level..
He actually won the very first header seconds after coming on and he also won the aerial dual where he knocked a tame header into the keepers hands. But yep, didn't have any major impact on the game.He should have come on hnstead of Madine.

Nonsense.Personal I don’t see a future with Yates now. He is a top League One quality but not Championship quality
WTF statement is thatPersonal I don’t see a future with Yates now. He is a top League One quality but not Championship quality
Agree, Madine did nothing. Jerry would have run tired legs ragged. He should have come on hnstead of Madine.

... only by the “experts” .... remember “ x” is an unknown quantity... “ spert” define as you likeWell that's Yates and Big Gaz written off. Jeez!
Hard to fathom posts like this, just nonsense.Personal I don’t see a future with Yates now. He is a top League One quality but not Championship quality

spot on about TJJ. Thought he had a shocker [again] yesterday.Lavery was absolutely unplayable in the first half yesterday. Barnsley’s defence looked terrified and their no. 10 was having to come back into defence to pick up the ball. It was one of the best displays of ‘pressing’ I’ve ever seen. Im not surprised he wasn’t as intense in the second half. I think had we not been 1-0 up then Yates would have come on, but Madine is the more likely to hold up play and adds to the defence when opposition start launching balls into the box come the end of the game.
TJJ was poor. He adds nothing to the squad. Not quick (slowed right down and almost got caught by the CB when through 1on1 and with a 10 yard head start), Not Sharp (missed the 1on1), doesn’t hold the ball up, doesn’t chase down and expects far too much time and space on the ball. I’ve also noticed he waits for the ball and prefers the ball to do the work instead of meeting it. That’s all well and good at U23 where you have more time, don’t have much to play for and don’t have seasoned pros against you but at this level it’s not good enough. Simms really kicked on and developed quickly after a slow start but TJJ doesn’t look like he’s improved at all. Was a passenger for 60/70 minutes yesterday.
Yates will start in TJJ’s place on Tuesday I reckon.
Might as well not be a Blackpool fan reading a statement like that.Personal I don’t see a future with Yates now. He is a top League One quality but not Championship quality
The question is how many more poor games. I don’t see why he keeps starting, at the expense of Jerry.spot on about TJJ. Thought he had a shocker [again] yesterday.
So do I. You can't expect the same starting lineup for every game when we are on a Saturday / Tuesday cycle. And I think Jerry will be up for it. Just needs a bit of luck and he is better when playing off a big man - Madine and Simms showed that last seasonI think he’ll get a starting position on Tuesday
We've only played 9 games and that area of the team is not sorted out yet. Lavery can play as a lone striker, Yates is not the same. Critch appears to believe JJ will develop into a co-striker and his judgement is better informed than yours or mine. Same applies with Yates. It's all a work in progress. I believe Yates is good enough for this level. It doesn't always happen immediately.Personally I don`t think Yates is good enough in the Championship. We` ve got better. Good work rate but offers more quantity than quality.I forecast at the start of the season that he would struggle and so far just one goal and that a penalty.
Rubbish.. Jerry is the best striker at the club, but strikers need service, of which he has had absolutety non whilst weve been finding our feet in this league. Give him the service and he will be our top scorer this season.Personally I don`t think Yates is good enough in the Championship. We` ve got better. Yep, even if he doesn't score he still creates problems for the opposition so we need other players to take advantage of that.I’m not reading too much into it. Jerry is a workhorse and our No9
I`m afraid the rubbish is all from you as this season has already shown and will continue to show, always assuming NC thinks he`s actually worth his place which is beginning to look doubtful now. I will be amazed if he even gets more than half as many goals as he scored in the lower division last season.Rubbish..
