Thread title of "I've said all along"

Everything the OP says is a desperate attempt to try and prove what he's said is correct.

He has said just about everything except give Critch any credit (we are where expected zzzzzz) - ironic as that would be the only accurate thing he would have said.

Pep Guardiola has City top of the prem and progressing in Europe (where they would have expected to be) - does he not deserve any credit either?

Clueless OP that is giving everyone a good laugh.
I've just finished bottling a beer that I've called Tangerine Dream, because it contains Tangerine Dream hops! They aren't available in this country, a guy in New Zealand has grown them in his garden and kindly posted some to me - I was keen to get some obviously and he wanted some feedback. So this is a very rare beer over here. Just a slight hint of tangerine in the flavour, I think. Golden ale, English style, quite bitter and hoppy. If anyone is in Manchester and fancies trying it, in the next month or two, drop me a message. Maybe we could celebrate promotion with it!

Fair enough, I don't hugely disagree with that. But KK hasn't had the same attention that Critch has had, for one thing. Plus he has not looked particularly interested out on the pitch for long spells either. He is visibly working much harder at the minute, now that things have clicked for him. (without Madine in the side! 🤣)

He didn't seem to have the motivation to do the press or make the runs until recently. And how out of position was he played? There have been games when he's been out on the left with space to attack and come inside etc and he's hardly touched the ball or looked like he wanted to. I'm not anti-KK, I'm loving seeing his new found enthusiasm, confidence and he's fantastic to watch in this form, I just wish he'd looked more interested when he was played possibly slightly out of position. I suspect it's mostly about confidence, and it's not a personal thing I have with him, it's simply a case of discussing whether somebody should be starting games or not. But I also accepted that NC selected him and was obviously giving him the opportunity to play himself back to form. which has happened. Well done both men. Let's applaud the development and the skills involved.
Its not necessarily that black and white

Whilst he has been played out of position i would say that its the instructions that he's been given that caused his dip in form and now improving form

I can't think of many creative players who are happy to just run up and down the line without the ball like some sort of robot

You don't have ambition though. You just wish for the moon on the stick, change your mind like you change your underwear and make no attempt to put anything into context. It's just childish, and most of us have grown out of it.

Your judgement has always been off like on the Jerry Yates thread, and this stuff about it being a weak league is complete bollocks. The bottom eight or so, maybe, not the rest.
What stuff on the Yates thread I'm not one for reading re hashed old threads?

My judgement has been spot on

Btw do we know each other as you do appear to have it in for me, jumping on my every post

We don't know that he was meant to run up and down the line like a robot, and I suspect not tbh. That's just your interpretation.

If you write strong opinions you get strong reactions. You write more than most. Just saying. And you were wrong about Yates, and Critchley. Just opinions, like you post.

But you can't have it both ways. If Critch is the main reason we're doing well and responsible for the improvement in players his his coaching and instructions (and I'd say he's a very big factor) it makes no sense to suggest that week after week, he's picked a player who isn't following instructions.

Sullay's game has changed significantly from his previous seasons here and elsewhere. Look at his stats, he's dribbled so much less and crossed so much more.

That's instructions. It's got to be.

Of course its my interpretation, just like its yours that he was lacking motivation
Correct, I could well be wrong. Could have been confidence. But he didn't do the work, and he earns several grand a week. This was my beef with Madine, he looked disinterested last season and the start of this. Minimum requirement is effort, bt life is complicated, i understand that.

How was i wrong on Yates?

Infact i was bang on correct

I liked his work rate and hoped he would find confidence infront of goal like he did at Swindon with attacking players around him

That is exactly what had happened

I'm not trying to have it both ways. Critch doesn't get everything right. Nobody does. But he has been getting a lot more right than he's got wrong since he arrived at the club and he needed some time to try things and mold things and some fans were incredibly impatient. "He's a novice, we need an experienced manager! Call for Paul Cook! This bloke only understands children!" It was offensive really, and impatient, and poorly judged. Time has shown that he was doing most things right and working towards what we now have. And those who were extremely critical, many of whom wanted a change of manager, were wasting their breath and just creating negative energy. thankfully the club toughed it out and fans weren't in the ground acting like a mob like they would have, and we came through it on this occasion....

I'm guilty of this every game! And as Tde said - people that don't "sail with the wind" during football matches are weird. If you want to moan then moan. Football is a release for many people twice a week. To stick rigidly to supporting the manager and the lads without moaning or passing criticism is weird. I love it when you think or say a particular player is absolutely shite then they go and score a worldy. It's the brilliant nature of football.

That's fair enough MAC.

At the start of the season, I criticised Phil and all the others criticising Critchley myself but I hear what you say.

I just felt that most of the criticism was results driven - I hear you saying obviously !!!! - and rather petulant and Critchley seemed to be clueless one week and the reincarnate of Guardiola three days later.

Maybe that's just how things should be as you suggest and who am I to tell you when and when not you are allowed to offer criticism and that's one of the reasons I thought folk were being a little OTT with their criticism of Phil.

Can we get this thread back on track please. The fact we’re paying Nuttall knocking on 20 grand a month. To put it in perspective that’s nearly half all the money raised by the fans for the Xmas collection.

That's the opposite of putting something into perspective. That's like saying Shaquille O'Neal is over 2 metres tall... to put that into perspective, the M6 runs for 400km!

Doesn’t make much sense to me that Alf. Perhaps I’m just being thick

More likely a lazy explanation from me, I just mean the point of the comparison isn't obvious or significant. One's a charity drive, one's a transfer fee.

Fair enough probably agree it was just me taking the opportunity to have a cheap shot at Nuttall and linking it to disadvantaged kids for dramatic effect 😀

I completely disagree with most of that but take particular issue with the last sentence

Being positive is having ambition, striving for improvement and wanting success in a results business

That comes across in my posts

Being negative is just being happy to except mediocrity, that comes across in your posts

Maybe you should change the user name 🤔
Negativity comes across in my posts Phil?
You ain’t obviously read them then.

Sounds good to me and a refreshing change from the pontificating, posturing, point scoring exhibited thus far on this thread.
For what it's worth, as I happily sup my tangerine tinted pint, Critch has done a great job tho not a perfect job. Some seem to wish that he'd done a perfect job, erred not even once.
I'm happy with Critch the man ager. Critch the computer unflawed in every way seems to be some people's desire.
Ahhh, lovely pint that Voy. Proper enjoyed it.

BTW Phil.
In the league we have only lost twice since the start of the year and our last defeat was on the 6th February.
If that is mediocrity in your opinion then maybe you should change your allegiance and go and support MCFC.

I think a good few on here have got things wrong this season on the manager/coach and results in general.

I could name no more than half a dozen people on here who have not only predicted a play off place all season but said we must stick with Critchley at all cost.

I’am man enough to hold my hand up and say sadly I wasn’t one of them after 10 games in.
I think the catalyst for the improvement in our fortunes was bringing in Calderwood to help and work alongside Critchley. It helped us defensively and we've seen a big improvement in Critchley's decision making. Critchley and the squad aren't the finished article but things are on the up. Well done to all.

Yeah and i haven't been critical since the awful display away at Ipswich

We are on about the start of the season 👌
