We need competition for Grimmy, he should not be a shoo-in just because North Stand Block A get upset if he doesn’t play !! Isted who has just signed for Charlton and had a great season for Barnsley would have been a very good signing, but that ship has sailed.
 
When our own fans are using that clown Nixon’s stories to have digs at the Club they need to find a new hobby 👍🏼

We have a number 1 keeper, so need a back-up. It’s really not hard. Pretty much every team in the Football League has 1 goalkeeper far better than the other. It actually causes problems when both are the same standard.

We can all say that Grimshaw in this League will be more than enough 💯👌🏼
 
Happy for the number 2 keeper to be low cost, local and happy to help train Grimmy.

If a kid comes up via our academy then great but we’ve got a more than good enough number 1 for the season ahead.

If he get injured, go and get an emergency loan signing - plenty of great keepers in the Prem who will come on a short termer

We don't need competition whoever comes knows he's a number 2.
Alnwick & Walker came last time in this league and where decent spend the money elsewhere.
 
Why not just promote the development keeper who’s 18 or 19? Always seems a wasted wage to me that role much rather give a youngster the role. Let’s be honest if Grimshaw got a long term injury we’d get a loan in anyway so other than a bit of company for Grimshaw during training its a pointless role.

His career has been played in general at a higher level than Moore's - that's basically all I can say.

He's played a lot of first team football over the years in Lg 1+2 and (I think, from teams/years) a bit of championship football.

Moore had played a fairly small amount of actual league games and dropped to non league before we got him.

If Grimshaw is out for 3 months you want to play an 18/19 year old??? We haven’t produced a single decent keeper from our youth set up in the 30 years I’ve supported this club.

We need three goalkeepers so the young lad can be third choice like Jack Simms was,who if I remember played played one game.
 
I think he'll want to be the No 1, so I can see a bit of a Clash coming on.

Also getting a new medic who specialises in therapy based on Aqua- Dr Jones.

Harvey Bardsley is that man. He is promising but a little way off the first team yet. Be good to see him get a chance in the EFL Trophy though. Behind him and the U18 keeper this coming season is Matteo Spinelli. At 6'5", and possibly still growing, he could be the tall keeper everyone wants. I'll be monitoring Matteo's progress next season.
 
People moaning about a back up goalkeeper that will probably never play.

All clubs have three goalkeepers, the third choice keeper is to help train the keepers and to be good around the place. Look at two time champions league winner Scott Carson, he was never going to play for city but he’ll have played a role in training and in the dressing room.

It’s good that we’re looking at an older head to help Grimmy out and keep him on his toes.

Maxwell was abysmal and the decision to drop Grimshaw and keep him out by Appleclownshoes cost us our championship status alone.
The north turning on Maxwell was justified as just about everyone could see he was having a mare for a long time.
To try and have a pop at the north is frankly a bit shit as MA and Dino are to blame for keeping a clearly inferior man in goal when the facts and stats showed the best keeper was warming the bench for most of the season.
It was inevitable people would turn on him as he was shocking in most games.

Goalkeeper has a ‘mare’ so the North was justified on turning on him???? Have you actually thought this through??? You’ve also said two managers picked him… is that his fault???? The idiots in the North giving players shit are the foaming at the mouth, smacked off their tits, Stone Island wearing knuckle draggers. I don’t think their opinions are important frankly.

Totally agree but irrespective of that Grimmy needs competition, every player does.
 
I've no problem with Jones, he has experience and as a past captain he should be a good influence.

I'd be more concerned about O'Donnell.
According to Wiki he's had no fewer than sixteen clubs (including loans) - not an indication of a player that clubs want to keep hold of.
