Yeah but they've lurched from one playing style to another. Bit like us going for McCarthy when we had the likes of Patino, Poveda and Fiorini in the squad. Massive transition and a big gamble they've taken, whereas we just committed footballing suicide!!

I did wonder whether Duffers would hit the Buffers at Championship level. Out of the three candidates we were linked with (Appleton, Duff and Rosenior) only the latter struck me as having the tools to adapt at the higher level.

Agree re Patino. Once labelled with a “wonder kid” tag it seems to stick irrespective of progress or lack of.

Patino is quality, he’s got the ability to make technically difficult stuff look like a breeze… The kid oozes talent ffs.
