Jerry Gone Officially

On his departure, Yates said:

“I want to thank everyone for their support since I joined the football club.

“We made some really happy memories and you gave me the best day of my career so far. The support has been unreal from day one, and has been the best I’ve played for.

Not too disappointed, Jerry always gave 100%, but wasnt all some on here are making him out to be, not prolific, 14 goals last season, how many penalties?
He never gave up, always lurking, maybe didnt fit our system? but I would have thought Swansea, wasnt much of a step up>?

Good luck to the lad, a good investment for BFC
 
Gutted he has gone , but I have to be honest here as well , arnt we sending the wrong message out here if we want to come straight back up , you don’t sell you best players 🤷 surly one season he could of stayed
hopeful this young lad can be a very good addition, I said it other day on a different post , he played last season over 35 matches scored 9 goals , so should know this league , I really hope the extra fee for Jerry goes onto signing couple more players
 
Never got the chance ‘to go on the piss with Jerry Yates’ but had the pleasure of seeing some great goals, and skill, giving his all in every game he played, and a great character. Wish him all the best for the future.

Even if we were still in the Championship, the chances are we would have still sold him. That's the business model. Sign players under £1m or free, work with them till they're worth multiple £m and then sell on. If Joseph is the player that some believe he can be, then we will do the exact same with him.
 
I want to thank Jerry for all that he did for us in Tangerine. An entertaining player, always smiling.

It was always coming but very sad now it's all official 😥. Thank you, Jerry 🍊 Created many great memories and moments in tangerine.

All in all though I think we've done an alright bit of business with the deal. Looking forward to seeing what Kyle Joseph can do 💪
 
It's impossible to not be happy for him personally - a move to a good championship club is what he deserves and where he should be playing. He gave us some great memories, pivotal in our promotion and had a first class attitude. Hope he does well. One of our best signings in the last few years, and the kind that we need to try and repeat.

That's very true, but I also wonder if maybe Jerry is still waiting for the club (more accurately, the team) that launches him into orbit. He's been brilliant for us, no question, but it's always felt like he might be capable of something even more special in a Premier League chasing team that clicks at the same time as he does.

Absolute quality player, we all knew it was coming, but it doesn't make it any less gutting. Thanks for everything Jerry, you always gave more than 100% and I'm sure you will be long remembered.
Good luck for your future with Swansea, I hope they realise what a diamond they've got.
