Jerry Lee Lewis

Thought he'd long since departed. He had a good long knock for a rock n roll wildboy

Didn’t he marry his 13 year old cousin or was that a myth? 😒
True, he married her when he was 22. She was his third wife. Hie also married her 23 days before the divorce to his second wife had been confirmed making him a bigamist too. I think he was addicted to wedding cake, he was married 7 times.

Just read a bit about him, he had Seven wives, two died in ‘mysterious circumstances’, at least two claimed abuse physical and psychological, one was his 13 year old cousin! And he was arrested outside Graceland after driving into the gates pished with a loaded magnum on the dashboard and Elvis shitting it inside calling the cops. A colourful character you might say.

He’s off my Christmas card list then, dead or not . Sounds like a proper charmer.

Wedding cake addiction is a slippery slope.

Yes but apart from that an all round charming fellow I'm sure you'll agree.

A lot of judging someone without understanding the circumstances, the laws of a foreign country or the times. The past is a foreign country as L P Hartley said.
6 failed marriages is a lot of circumstances.

2 dying in suspicious circumstance is one more than judging.

2 reports of abuse is one more than looks good.

Despite the times or the law it looks morally shit.

Not for me.

Marrying a 13-year-old (who claimed to be 20 on the wedding certificate) is wrong in any country at any time. If it was morally or legally right in the USA at that time why would she have to lie about her age?

Dress it up how you want, but it is paedophilia at any time and place

The last of the original Rock n Roll artists of the 50’s.

Bill Haley, Elvis, Little Richard, Chuck Berry, Little Richard, Gene Vincent, The Everly Brothers and many others.
I literally love all of those artists.

Rock and roll. Can’t beat it in my opinion!

RIP Jerry Lee. A talented man.

Which bit are you struggling with?

1. He was married 7 times

2. He Married a 13 year old child (his cousin)

3. At least one of his wives died in suspicious circumstances (some say at his hands)

4. He’s been reported dead this week already, before his agent / spokesman confirmed he wasn’t actually dead.

Does that resolve the conundrum?

To be fair now I know the facts I wish he’d died a lot sooner 😱
Rock and Roll won’t miss a terroriser like that. Neither wIll the ladies ( girls) and I dare say Elvis.

I’m sad to say I think Elvis may well have been on the old paedo train too….🫤😞

He’s probably nicked one of Jerry Lees ‘girl ‘ friends

Being a talented musician shouldn’t give you a pass on the old liking pubescent girls front.
Thirteen years old and married to a 22year old!!
Nonce pure and simple

My husband played in his band Great balls of Fire from the 80s thru to around 2005
Used to do loads of gigs back in the day at places like the Royal Oak and the Durban etc
He was the keyboard player and my god he sounded just like Jerry Lee Lewis and plays the piano as good as Jerry Lee Lewis to this day. We still have his keyboard set up in the spare bedroom that he tinkers with now and again. Those were the good old days especially in the Royal Oak when Johnny and Ivy was the landlord and landlady.
Remember going the winter gardens to see Jerry Lee Lewis around 20 years ago too

Saw them a few times at The Royal Oak....Great band and spot on with the Jerry Lee stuff...some wild gigs in there.

A great entertainer, and way ahead of his time. He made Bill Haley seem like a

He was, however, a bad lad where women were concerned and as someone else has pointed out where gangs were concerned. He made Bill Haley appear like a sunday school singer.

Asa for R.I.P, I think he will be lucky if he does, as it will no doubt be great balls of Fire where he ends up!
