Jerry Yates in Manchester Evening News

It certainly doesn't paint JY in a particularly positive light, especially in these Covid restricted days

If he was in training next day then he would be a bit hangover? If he was in Manchester I very much doubt he was.

Has no-one on here been out the night before work?

Jeez, I must be the devil incarnated as at that age I've been hungover, hallucinating off strawbs still or coming down after a night of disco biscuits.

People on here make the Flanders look edgy.

He’s hardly the most handsome of chaps so fair play, make the most of what you’ve got. Nothing to see here for me.

This thread mentions smashed, hangover, on the piss, etc. but how, from that picture, can you tell exactly what he had consumed? Not everyone needs alcohol to act the goat.

Under normal life and circumstances I wouldn’t have a problem with footballers going out on the town after a game . I do however believe that during these times of covid and the extensive measures football clubs are taking to protect their players and staff, it is highly irresponsible for any professional footballer to be exposing himself ( I don’t mean that in an indecent way !!) to potentially contracting the virus which could then sweep through the entire club putting many others at risk. The implications not only from a health point of view but also from the impact this could have on games being postponed etc are immense. Footballers at this time need to set an example and think about the potential consequences of their actions for others, not just thinking about themselves.

Christ, some of you lot must have been choir boys during your 20’s. So basically your saying he shouldn’t go out?

No, anyone is entitled to 'go out' but when you're in a position of influence, especially to younger folk who look up to football players, then you have to set yourself somewhat higher standards. Taking off your shirt when drunk in the middle of the night and completely ignoring social distancing is not an example to set.

If it is him ,he should be out of the club before Thursday. He looked like he,d had a pint or three in the 2nd half on Saturday moved about as elegantly as a well worn Pool donkey.
In my eyes he is a poor Cullen and that,s insulting Cullen.
possibly one of the worse to pull on a centre forward,s shirt in Pool,s colours for the past 20 years. No speed, no guile, no shot and no talent. But obviously a talented club goer

So if he had scored a hat trick in every game so far would you want him sacked?

A position of influence? He is a third division footballer on a night out 50 miles from where he plays. No one in manchester would know who it is. And I'm sure 99% of our young pool supporters wouldn't have a clue it was him either.

I never buy this role model nonsense.

🤣 Perhaps a bit harsh in your assessment? Id say its too early to judge him on a footballing front. Lets be honest though he is hardly 'nailed on' to set things on fire.
Not deemed good enough for championship 'big boys' Rotherham but he did ok in LG2,
He may come good but its very much wait & see for me, as it is with most of them tbf.

Fair point. However If he had been a prem player it would be all over the papers & his professionalism and attitude would be questioned.
LETS ALL THANK FUCK hes a LG1 no mark!!! 🤣

Don't care about players going out and getting smashed. We've all done it at that age. However if we have training today then I doubt Critchley will be too impressed. Could get dropped on Saturday for this, especially if Kaikai is fit.
I'd be more surprised about Kaikai being fit, to be honest.

Don't ** care if a player is out for a drink on a Sunday, but my only concern with him going out is him being out without a mask in a city that's an hour away. A bit careless, because that could be a potential COVID-19 risk for the team.

What an absolutely dogshit post. Worst of the year for me football wise.

My concern would be as a professional footballer, supposed to be in some form of isolation bubble, for Covid reasons, the photo suggests, he may now be a transmission risk to the Team bubble? Im sure there will be guidance given by the club, PFA etc regarding contact? This may mean he would have to isolate?
