I know he's not our player anymore, but after seeing a negative comment from a Swansea journalist last night, I had a look at the Swansea fans reaction to him on twitter. Is a shame it's not worked out for him.
As a South Yorkshire lad Barnsley or a return to Rotherham would be ideal,It’s not just Swansea fans to be fair. From what I’ve heard from various podcasts completely unaffiliated with Swansea, he’s been absolutely dreadful for them. A lot of people thought it was a strange move from them in the first place.
Hopefully he finds his feet at another club sometime soon.
They sacked the manager who signed him. It's not exactly breaking news that Jerry doesn't thrive in a formation where he's on his own up top, and I believe Swansea often play that way?
They didn't do enough due diligence on a player they were buying , it's their own fault.
The gap between Champ and League 1 is getting wider all the time. Both Yates and Patino warming the bench again last night granted Yates got the last 30 minutes.
If these two are struggling to hold down a starting place in a very poor championship team it tells you all you need to know really about the void between a championship and a league one team.
Good post.I think Jerry is a championship player but only if all his ducks are in a row. He needs to be playing in the right team, with the right formation and the right players around him but also with the right manager and fans too. He isn't a prolific goalscorer but he will work his socks off for you and if you appreciate that and have goals in the team from elsewhere he will benefit you. If not then I can see aswell why some fans might think he's a bit sh1t.
Unfortunately Joseph doesn't score goals. My worry is that he becomes an expensive flop like Nuttall.Kyle Joseph was probably Pool’s only decent player apart from Grimshaw last night. He put a real shift in.
League1 /Lower half championship at a push.Sometimes players just suit a club. It was an ambitious move for Jerry and one you don't turn down. However, I am not surprised as I don't think he is a Championship quality footballer.
I wish we would. They sacked the manager who signed him.
Joseph is doing more than nuttall ever did, he just looked laboured as Joseph is non stop, great in the air, and skilful, the goals and assists will come I have no doubtUnfortunately Joseph doesn't score goals. My worry is that he becomes an expensive flop like Nuttall.
Well if you're happy with a career to date record of 1 goal in 5 then good for you!Joseph is doing more than nuttall ever did, he just looked laboured as Joseph is non stop, great in the air, and skilful, the goals and assists will come I have no doubt
Sadler or “Simon “ to his lickers ! .. isn’t spending .. that’s bleeding obviousAs a South Yorkshire lad Barnsley or a return to Rotherham would be ideal,
Thinking about it the probably couldn't afford him.
Yep, he’s a bottom half championship player in the right circumstances. He works his arse off to be as good as he can be.I think Jerry is a championship player but only if all his ducks are in a row. He needs to be playing in the right team, with the right formation and the right players around him but also with the right manager and fans too. I’d be happy to go on the piss with himHe's not a championship player, simple as.
I’m not saying I’m happy I’m saying I think he’ll come good from what I’ve seen so far, let’s face it Jerry wasn’t prolific at first and he turned out to be pretty good for us,anyway we all have a different opinion, that’s mine and as far as I’m concerned with more service he could become a fantastic player for usWell if you're happy with a career to date record of 1 goal in 5 then good for you!
I don't see him becoming prolific.
Hopefully, but I see him as a second striker rather than the main man / leading goalscorer.I’m not saying I’m happy I’m saying I think he’ll come good from what I’ve seen so far, let’s face it Jerry wasn’t prolific at first and he turned out to be pretty good for us,anyway we all have a different opinion, that’s mine and as far as I’m concerned with more service he could become a fantastic player for us
He won't on the left wing, even Nuttall played down the middle.Unfortunately Joseph doesn't score goals. My worry is that he becomes an expensive flop like Nuttall.
Especially when playing in the same team as Ryan Hardie and the rest is historyHe won't on the left wing, even Nuttall played down the middle.
Partly agree but to date his career goals to games ratio is 1 in 5. Will he justify the significant fee we allegedly paid? I'm yet to be convinced. He won't on the left wing, even Nuttall played down the middle.
If we'd stayed up last year would anyone see a move to Swansea as 'ambitious'?It was an ambitious move for Jerry and one you don't turn down.
Might?Good post.
I’m not entirely convinced he is a championship standard striker.
I’d take him back in a heartbeat but the problem we have is the Boltons, Portsmouth’s and Derby’s of this world who might show an interest.
Yeah?Might?
I don't think Critchley would, or that Yates would play for him. In one interview Jerry said very sarcastically 'Neil Critchley....tactical genius'. No love lost there I'd sat.I'd have him back in a heartbeat, I wish some of the current crop had half the ability, passion and work ethic that Jerry has.
