It's coming together now.View attachment 11790just been down to look for myself.
Matts buzzing saying he's making good progress
Looks quality in the flesh so to speak
Not sure how, his face is still a bunch of squiggles tbf.Am I allowed to say he’s looking a touch Charlie Adamesque?
He’s got more spare tyres than an Armfield memberNot sure how, his face is still a bunch of squiggles tbf.
Just trying to replicate this pic I guess....He’s got more spare tyres than an Armfield member
Can only be spitting, will be gone and dry in an half hour....Just spoken with Matt the artist - rains stops play for today …..
Only on TGC
Certainly will. That’s going to look mint
Can only be spitting, will be gone and dry in an half hour....
Should have put the covers on then had an umpire assess it after an hour....Weather is always a bit of a conundrum….. another factor in the financial equation is also the cost of booking out the cherry picker for the day.
Hopefully normal service will be resumed tomorrow
Why ?Did you get the amount of money required for this or are you still taking donations?
It does match the original pic with the creases, they are meant to be, but @Blackpool_Rox Thoughts?Looking great already.
Couple of minor bits of feedback:
I’d lose the top x2 shadows to right of BFC badge - looks like rolls of fat.
The curve shadow on the arm looks peculiar. I’d redraw it like the original mock-up.

Because he was a great player and a gentleman who was/is well respected amongst fans from all over the place and I had considered making a donation. What did you think I wanted to know for??Why ?
NW I thought you would have seen on here that they indeed got all the moneyBecause he was a great player and a gentleman who was/is well respected amongst fans from all over the place and I had considered making a donation. What did you think I wanted to know for??
Actually it doesn't match the original picture at the moment at all.. The creases are the wrong shape and size and shadowing makes them look more like rolls of fat.It does match the original pic with the creases, they are meant to be, but @Blackpool_Rox Thoughts?
I should have said it's intended to match that.Actually it doesn't match the original picture at the moment at all.. The creases are the wrong shape and size and shadowing makes them look more like rolls of fat.
Yes, he might well just correct it as he goes alongI should have said it's intended to match that.
Should probably wait to see it today, tommorow etc as it progresses, as it aint finished. But I wouldn't be against making that bit look better.
Sorry, I am not on here all the time so I didnt see that. Anyway, I am glad you got all the money, it looks good so far from the photos I have seen of it. As I stated, JA was a great player who was a gentleman and well respected throughout not only in football circles and it was well deservedNW I thought you would have seen on here that they indeed got all the money

ExactlyDifficult for the artist to stand back and look at areas he isn't happy with from a cherry picker atm. He will get the mass of the colour applied, sort his shading out and then stand back and pinpoint areas which need altering. I agree the lines are too harsh in those areas and need softening but his artistic eye will pick that up without guidance. I personally think he's a brave man to attempt the piece and an even braver man to attempt a portrait where teeth are on show, usually avoided by most portrait artists so good luck to him.
In all fairness, I think Neil had just assumed that the ‘Jimmy’ in the mural was Mr Armfield as opposed to Mr Five Bellies, when offering up his adviceExactly
Pleased to see the artist is being instructed how to do his job. Only on AVFTT
Can't wait to see this on Saturday
That will probably happen when it's all completed. UnlessWhat's being done to promote this on TV etc? Should be a kick in for a story for NW Tonight etc surely?
Anyone would think you know what you’re talking about.Art is Subjective, opinions should be welcomed. Neil was bang on with his points, the piece is currently incorrect but its far too early to pass judgement. The artist will, most likely, be unhappy with that part himself and will no doubt rectify it when he hits the final stages. Sit tight and watch it unfold

Really coming together now, the fans at the bottom as promised too, makes it even better.Looking ace View attachment 11825
I’m not the only one who sees these creases looking a touch too heavy. And one extra added. Hopefully a tweak to get him back in shape.Just trying to replicate this pic I guess....
Better than being a Rolf Harris I supposeEveryone’s a bloody Bob Ross these days
Looks great, but why has he got Miss Piggy's trotter?
You would redraw it to look like this an that, I have gable end not 200 meters from Armfield feel free to have a go. Give the lad a chance to finish the job . Constructive criticism is good but I for one feel yours is below par, club an fans come along way in couple of years so if that's all you have to moan about on this forum we are doing okLooking great already.
