John Coleman

A very brief statement from Accy . A manager and his assistant who have been there so long definitely punching above their weight deserved more than to end like this. The club will suffer for this, the small fanbase won't like it and I can see them dropping into non league like a stone. I've never liked Andy Holt, he likes the attention too much. John Coleman has his faults but he's a proper hard working committed football man.

There was a fall out earlier in the season about not renewing Colmans contract. I think Holt said most managers would probably have been sacked after the drop. IMHO most football is unsustainable so for me a rich person’s hobby & a potentially expensive one at that. Holt seems ok to me from what I know. I think he’s had enough of spending & no doubt stick from all angles, which is why he’s trying to sell the club to somebody who’s genuine. Who would want to own a football club 😬

Colman and Bell both went public saying they wanted new contracts but Holt was telling them to wait when Accy were in the playoffs. Holt went on a rant saying that the relegation was their fault the season before and that they'd signed loads of crap player's. Then he came out saying that the club was losing £1m a year and he wasn't footing the bill anymore so high wages were a thing of the past. So it looks like this is a combination of money saving and him not trusting their judgement anymore. Terrible statement, they deserve more than 2 paragraphs. I would have thought that they would have gone at the end of the season so that they got the chance to say goodbye to the fans properly.

Like I said I think Holt has had enough of spending & stick from all sides. We don’t exactly know if things were handled correctly or there’s been a spat between them all. I suspect the latter.

Holt two weeks ago was listing a load of players who have spent their whole time in the treatment room, costing him £500,000 in wages. Writing was on the wall then as clearly he didn't trust the managers judgement any more.

Don’t know why Holt keeps moaning about the money needing to be put in, did he think buying a club with around 3,000 home fans and keeping them in league 1 was a financially sound investment. He was ranting that the premier league should subsidise it the other week

So the manager gets the blame if players get injured? I don't see Klopp getting pelters because half the Liverpool squad are injured. The fact is that Coleman has had them punching above their weight for years and one relegation to what you would think is more their natural level and Holt has turned on him. Let's see what Holts judgement is like now because he's going to have to do very well to get a manager anywhere near as good.

Well I”ll miss John C’s post match comments on Radio Blackburn on my way home from home matches.
Can come across as a bit of a xxxx but one thing I”ll never question is his desire to do his best for Stanley and he rarely minces his words.
Holt in fairness has probably kept them going for some considerable time but when you have T'Rovers the Nobbers, the Trotters( I resisted what I really want to call them) and Burnlee all close by….and not forgetting Man U ..it is a hard task.

He did another post as well saying that the club was supposed to be all about progressing youth players as that's what would make them sustainable, but that hadn't been happening and they'd lost promising talents because they didnt see a path into the first team. So I agree, the writing was definitely on the wall.

Interesting about having to
pay for injured players,Sadler must have been really pissed off when virtually a whole team was sat in the stands last season taking his coin

I confess enjoying Andy Holt's candour, the only time you hear what goes on at EFL meetings. He does have form for deleting twitter accounts.

He left decisions about players to John Coleman, and felt let down last season when they were relegated. Start of this season, despite relegation, JC and his sidekick took their campaign for a pay rise onto Radio Lancs, AH said, sod this, club's up for sale, I pump all this money in and this is how they respond. To date, as he is insisting on someone to run it the same way he has, as a community club, no takers.

The partnership between AH and JC has done well, the club boasts much better infrastructure than it did, but two strong characters will always fall out, and, as said above, there will be only one winner.

Coleman - bellend

Holt - bellend

Eventually this pair of gobchites were always gonna clash.
Harsh , I don’t particularly like either of them , regardless of that they’ve done a decent job, I’m not sure who Accrington could get as an upgrade unless holt puts a shitload of money in which is doubtful

Hmm. Maybe we should take note.

It's a great read in a "pub team politics on Facebook" kind of way. It's hard to believe that this type of communication has come from a professional football club.

Decent comeback that . The old adage of no one is bigger than the club springs to mind . Tough job on his hands as Accrington are in a tough , poor area with poor catchment due to Bolton, Burnley, Blackburn and Wigan
..amongst the not too far away Prem clubs. I wish him and them all the best as I do all struggling smaller clubs who need to be there for the good of the community
