Jordan Gabriel

Garbutt and Mitchell should work perfectly down the left as they are both attacking but also defenders so they can cover each other. Now we have Gabriel we have some balance, although he will need cover from the right when he goes bombing forward.

I still think we will get a couple more in yet before the 16th October.

Does this mean Howe offered on loan and Turton and Gabriel fighting for position. It would be another non Critchley signing out of the door

3 players in the 11 from pre Critchley days, Maxwell is a stayer but I can see Husband being replaced by a new centre half in the next couple of weeks. That leaves Madine, Virtue, Turton, Nottingham, Thorniley & Kaikai fighting for places along with players like Sarkic, Luballa & Kemp also itching to get in the team. You also still have Howe, Shaw & Antwi so all in all he has a very decent squad of 22, not to mention the reserve keepers. It will be down to character and who shows NC what they are about that will get them a place.

That's why it is a work in progress at the moment and patience is required. Once it gels, it will be awesome.

Some comments off the Forest board after JG’s recent games against Barnsley (EFL Cup) and QPR (League) – sounds promising…

Certainly no shortage of confidence today. Wonderful piece of footwork early on to create himself a chance.

Thought he did ok.needs to work on decision making- few times just ran into crowd of Barnsley players- whereas quick ball out wide wud be more effective. Like his athleticism n build- promising.

Defensively he looked generally sound and an exciting outlet going forward. When he sold their defender a kipper within the first 10-15 seconds to break into the box I was momentarily whipped up into a mild frenzy I have to admit.

I thought he didn't look out of place against qpr at all. has all the tools to be a very good modern fullback.

Just announced on Sky sports news we have signed him on a season long loan.
Well spotted mate..
Nothing gets past you....
Eligible for Saturday apparently....
What about him being tested for Covid19.....
Am I correct in thinking it’s not compulsory for league 1 ?
Dumbfounded if true

Would rather it was a permanent deal, but this is about as good as we can expect. It’s a brilliant deal for him (signing the contract extension) and we’ve got him all season, so happy days. 🙂👍

Another Florist flan view or two...

"Gabriel has always been a talent, Forest bought him from Southend when he was 15/16. He's just been held back greatly by injuries. He's a very mature lad for his age (he's got a kid who must be a few years old now). If he can stay injury free, I can see why Sabri will choose him ahead of Jayden right now, because i'd say he's more defensively accomplished. If he can keep fit, he'll be a genuine asset. A few years ago i'd have questioned even if he had a future in pro football with his injuries and seeming like he wasn't developing. But he's right back on it."

"Jayden better going forward, Gabriel a better defender. Both are good athletes. Gabriel more of a physical specimen, Richardson probably a bit quicker with the ball."

"Scunthorpe fans are mightily impressed with him. Great for him to finally be injury free and get some pro-football experience behind him. He would very likely be someone involved with the first team if he hadn't been unlucky with injuries. He's probably 2yrs behind where he would be right now. Hopefully he keeps injury free and comes back in the summer fancying a go at getting involved in the first team, or a Lg1 loan."

He has been the main target to fill the right back slot for some time now...we wanted a player and we got that player albeit on loan for now. Anyone thinking Turton was always going to be the answer doesnt really understand what we are trying to achieve. The full backs are an integral part of the system and we apparently now have a much more mobile, forward thinking athlete who can also defend. This will improve the first 11 and Turton is a decent option on the bench given his ability to fill other slots.

The next integral part of the system we need addressing is the centre backs.....
ASAP....
