I witnest 2 adult dosser men aggressively approach a lad who was waiting for the bus to school on Church street yesterday morning.
The lad must of been 15/16yo caught one of them with a right hook then the other pulled out a knife at which point the lad legged it leaving behind his school bag which the junkies robbed.

I followed the 2 scummy twats all the way from Church street - Hornby road- down Central drive whilst on the phone to the police

The 2 dirty bastards were caught by police by Revoe park

I ** hate this town sometimes when a kids can even wait for the school bus without dickheads like this pulling a blade on them, at leat these 2 are going to be locked up for a while
 
Decriminalising drugs would be a massive move to resolve a lot of societies issues. It used to be so - drugs were not the realm of crime and was more of a national health need.
Junkies will always source drugs. If it was via the nhs then treatments could be formulated to help them off it or even at worse horrible moments like that would be far less prevalent

Not a nice experience LS.

Robbery is a very serious offence and used to attract long sentences. The judicial at the moment seem to pass off incidents like this as almost 'normal'.

Every credit & a huge well done to you Briggsy for doing the right thing. Many others would have just walked on by rather than risk getting involved.
The streets are without doubt becoming more dangerous & the sh*te needs clearing.

There’s no such thing as a town where that sort of thing does’t happen sadly. We seem to just accept it now. I think Chunkylads idea of making drugs legally available would go a long way to solving the associated crime, but we would need a back up plan for where these criminals would then turn their attention.

Absolute fallacy that every town has a criminal drug addict element.
There are plenty of towns in plenty of places that don't have these problems.
It's important to say it because it's a problem that needs to be fixed and can be fixed, if we think it's inevitable then the people who are responsible for delivering the solutions won't be held to account.

This is not about Briggsy's excellent piece of social standing.....well done lad, but this kind of muppetery is found in EVERY town & city in the UK
We have a social underclass of ill educated, adults, who are reliant on benefits, alcohol and (reducing) drugs.
In short....There are some horrible cnuts everywhere, unluckily this lad met up with 2 of them....I wish more people were like Briggsy.

My reply should be long and involved but the match is coming up. In short, communities need work. Long term jobs that can involve families. There used to be loads in manufacturing but , sadly that (far east built) ship has largely sailed. However, lose key industries and communities become destitute. Consett after the loss of steel; Ebbw Vale after the loss of the mines.
 
WHICH is why my wife and i left blackpool eight months ago. Amongst other factors . My wife was nearly robbed twelve months ago. My son said enough is enough. HE ORGANISED and paid everything that was needed. A six month rent deposit . WHICH we have now paid back. financial factors did come into play but my wife and his mother feels 100 percent safer here in St Annes

Well we disagree. Legalise all drugs.

People already gateway if they choose as it is so easy to buy drugs from criminals. Pre criminalisation drugs were seen as a health issue not a crime issue. You went to doctors to get opioids etc and they could manage that and pathway off them. Look what happened in the US with alcohol prohibition. Drugs are no different.

Look at the statistics on number of drug users post and pre criminalising them. It’s stark and runs contrary to today’s policies. Police are already overwhelmed and dealing with crime created by drug addicts stealing to fund drugs makes that worse plus the pain of the victims.

Your description of drug drivers and unemployable could be equally applied to alcohol.

Time to get tough on crime.

I'm not one for the state snooping in our lives but tbh they can anyway with our phones etc. It's just it's getting silly in some areas so something must be done.

Get more and proper clear cctv. Track the scum by their phones. More police on the Street.

Is is time to use far more drones to follow these idiots who commit crimes so they can then be arrested? You could have them positioned all over to quickly burst into action in the known hotspots so someone having to follow isn't necessary.

There was even something about dna testing dog crap to stop that.

None of this should be necessary of course, but the world we're living in people are feeling more invincible and know they won't be punished.

Time to build more prisons, or use ships, or convert an unused building maybe. We've got to be able to house the scum and discourage crimes with real deterrent, proper sentencing.

As for the central area, keep improving the housing, increasing prices, knocking down old and building new so better people move in and squeeze the scum out bit by bit. If we're tough on crime many will remove themselves eventually as well.

Yep, but they already do anyway is the point and if people are going to commit crimes, then use it against them.

Google already knows where I am 24/7. So can GCHQ etc. Habits, likes, dislikes, patterns etc.

Some of the scum will get themselves arrested, die early, or have to move on, maybe back to the towns they came from some of them... some can be helped and there are many schemes set up to help but you have to want it too. Proper deterrent might make some think twice if crime doesn't pay.

As said not my ideas, it's already not far off being ramped up.

So reduce one and at least try to maintain the other. When I am made Chunky Iron Overlord I will:

1. Decriminalise drugs
2. Mandatory sterilisation of all convicted of crimes (even minor misdemeanours)
3. All women are allowed only 2 children. They can choose who fathers them but cannot by law go above 2 children. (If one dies then can of course breed again).

Target is to half the population (minimum) globally.
Less people, more space, less draw on resources, better environment for all

My economic policies will be around guaranteed incomes and reduced working weeks (very Karl Marx 😉)

See, my economics degree or MBA wasn’t wasted after all 😂

We have the same problem here in Spain ,but the difference is we have proper council street cleaners who go around and pick it up and bin it ,not lazy barstewards like in England ,who want to do fook all but keep demanding higher wages .
