He's not worth a place in the team full stop. The frustrating thing is he's probably the most skillful player in the squad. But if you don't show any passion to get involved in the game the odd flash of brilliance is not enough. He is nothing like the the player he was in his first few games for us. Some players just can't be motivated and he's one of them.

I think he's one of those who's desperate for a teammate to come over and say, 'great stuff mate, keep it up!'

Players such as Sullay can be very frustrating because you know how good they can be. However, they can also change a game in a second.

The problem with Kaikai is he's not a 90 minute player and I don't think he ever will be.
What you want from Sully though is a few moments of "brilliance" and when we first signed him that's what we got.
We used to get a few mazy runs from him, taking players on and beating them but those seem to have dried up. I don't know if the Managers tactics are stifling him or it's just that he's not back to full match fitness yet.
He did of course deliver 2 or 3 excellent free kicks which was a refreshing change for a Blackpool player.

Yep needs to be playing in the middle behind a centre forward like at Cov and Southend
If he is playing you are spot on...however he is a luxury player and last night showcased him good and bad. The two best crosses but culpable for the goal and then laughing about it...attitude issues and sicknote waiting to happen when it gets cold

I rate him a lot, but yesterday showed why you can’t play him in a role with defensive duties cos he’s not arsed about tracking back.

I would play him at the tip of a midfield 3. Go where you want, do what you want and the 2 behind you will give you the platform to play. Just worry about creating.

Not sure we can afford that at the moment though.

Not comparing them for a moment, but you never saw any decent forward players tracking back. The best know their job is at the other end of the pitch and they don't waste energy and effort in doing that. Name one world class player who's stand out ability was that they tracked back.

He’s not a winger, so he’ll always drift in / out of games. That’s why he’s viewed by some as a luxury.

Play him behind the striker - we saw last season how it worked, linking with Gnando, Fonz and Feeney.

Different level entirely, but Messi drifts out of games, but generally comes up with one piece of class. Not everyone in a team needs to be covering every blade and throwing themselves into tackles.

Already made all these comments previously. But here's the rub. We'll all be making the same comments again in a month or so.
So is it us or is it Kaikai?

I totally agree that’s why he can’t play in a wide position because he leaves his full back exposed. I would say on the ball he’s our best player, creativity wise?

You're right but again here's the difference. Messi more often that not comes up with a piece of class in every match. Kaikai on the other hand is nowhere near that. Different level or not. Is it reasonable that the manager or the fans have to wait x number of games for it?

In a team that is struggling badly for that little bit of quality with the final pass/cross/finish, can we afford to leave out the one player we have who we know has that quality, no matter how inconsistent?

We knew he would be frustrating. If he was as skilful as he is, motivated and consistent he'd be a Premier League player. He's not. Not even wanted in the Championship.

I totally agree with the above. His body language is pretty poor. Every time he gets the ball he just turns back and looks generally uninterested. Maybe last season's injuries have not gone away because I don't see the same player we saw flashes of in August 2019.

Or did we all just get carried away and he's not as good as we think he is?

His set pieces yesterday were miles better than anything we have produced this season so far

He also got the winner on Saturday

For me he's not a wide player and should be played as a 10 behind the striker
Agreeed.

Agree, but think he will deliver more consistently in a central position. All on the basis he can stay fit for a decent run in the team.

Yep for me his best position is when he gets the ball in centre circle and runs at the defence. Do I think he'll stay fit and find some consistency? Sorry but no.

Kaikai is a luxury player, on his day when things are going well he’ll be the best on the pitch, probably 1/4 of the season if that.

most of the time the game will pass him by and he will be useless, he would be a good impact player I think but he’s not guna get you out this division as our main play maker

That is true of many players with the skill that can unlock a game and I get the feeling it's why Critchley can only play either Madine or Yates up front at the moment as Kaikai is a luxury.
