Kane to City £160 mill & £400k per week

Hated by his own fans but levy certainly knows how to strike a deal. Not fussed by Spurs whatsoever but hope for there sake they sign 3/4 decent players with that cash.

gonna cost them 285 million quid with wages surely that money cannot be recouped
good luck to the lad earn 125 million plus his sponsership deals tax man will be a happy chappie

The question that needs asking is.....
Will 20's change his elegance to City now big H is on the move🤣🤣😏

Why don’t players come out and tell the truth for once.
£400,000 a week is silly money but i’ll take every penny of it cos I’am a greedy bastard, instead of they want to win some silverware. 🙄
Well at least say I want to win trophies and im off car shopping the second I sign the paperwork.
Plus anyone know a decent divorce lawyer (not you Ray Parlour!) as I’m upgrading at home whilst I’m at it

If true then Spurs can do what they do best... buy 9 or 10 below average players with the proceeds and then finish 6 th.

Seems an awful lot of money, but he’s a proven goal scorer, give him half a chance and he’ll score, I’d imagine he’ll score shit loads in a team like city….

Nobody would turn down £400,000 a week, it's great for Harry Kane and his family.
The problem is it distorts the money all the way through football and is why you end up with journeyman centre backs earning £1,500,000 a year in the Championship.
Nobody in the Championship is worth 1.5 million a year, I can't see that anybody in the 2nd tier of English football is worth more than £10,000 a week but this Kane transfer if accurate will have a lot of agents and players asking for more.

So it's OK for the rest of Europe to pay obscene money but not in England.

Its ok for everyone everywhere to pay obscene money in the sense that there aren't really any rules in place to stop it. Financial fair play rules always seem to be bypassed.
My point is it distorts wages in football everywhere so ultimately for the smaller clubs like Blackpool or our equivalent in Europe we end up with players and agents asking for more and more.
Its nothing new and unless all the club owners worked together to a certain extent, that will never happen, it just gets worse and worse.

Guess what City's first game of the season is?

Good luck to him, world class player who was stifled by Jose. Will do great at City

The money distorts all of European and World football. It impacts in every league in the same way. It also undermines leagues that aren't moneyed so a player in say, Poland or I dunno, Uruguay will happily leave a massive domestic club and come and play in the second tier of English (or Spanish/German/Italian to a lesser extent) because the going rate is so high.

He’s going there to win trophies first and foremost. He’ll be paid what he is relevant in the world of football which is 400k a week it seems.
crazy money but it’s just supply and demand.

Although with Brexit I am guessing the criteria to sign Polish, French or other Eastern European, or Scandinavian players will mean that English championship clubs will be less active in those markets than they used to be.

Another £20 million a year that Abu Dhabi is sending into the UK economy for a single player’s wages. Let’s hope Kane pays his full whack in taxes.

Actually, this rumour smells of his agent trying to push the deal through or Levy pushing against some slight City hesitation about the amounts involved.

Reminds me of the time when Rooney was the Prem top dog and the rumour from his agent was he was “putting in a transfer request”... before signing a new ManU deal at something like 280k per week. Except Kane and Spurs will cash in this time.

It’s not just S&D, it’s a small country with bloated oil revenues trying to rehabilitate its international reputation... with “sports washing”. Just like PSG, just like the Saudis trying to buy the Geordies, like the Chinese buying Prem clubs, just like Al Mahktoum spending multimillions each year in English horse racing etc. England is now the world’s floozy, up for sale to anyone. But there is little positive in the way of “trickle down” from this.

Kane is class and given service he will score all sorts of goals.

It'll be interesting to watch City now with a class striker up to.

Obviously mad money but thats the way the games gone.

Is that the right move for him. Will he be their No1 man. I am not sure. Would have been suited more at Liverpool. Be their top man. Alexander Arnold and Robertson deliveries, He would have a field day. Mane and Salah are not settled there. So he has missed a trick for me. The money is crazy. But if someone is prepared to pay it.....

Supply and demand of a very tiny number of Oil Tycoons and a billion miles away from normal people. Lucky Harry!

What I find strange is that City have pushed the boat out for him but basically had forgone even playing strikers towards the end of last season. Will be interesting to see how he gets on, if he's able to keep improving it bodes well for Qatar!

Kane isn't your conventional number 9 he allows those either side of him to push on in front when he comes deep and then has a late burst in the box exactly what City need and the type of football Pep likes to play.

Maybe that's why he was strolling round in first gear during the Euro group games? Other things on his mind.

Now, I know I look at the world in a different way to everyone else, but this one really highlights it all. I've no way of knowing if the figures quoted are correct but lets assume they are to make the point. Are Spurs that stony broke that they'd miss £1m of the 160 that's coming their way? No they're not. So why not say, here's £159m, put £1m towards a fund to help clubs about to go out of business for the sake of a few hundred grand, Bury as a recent example.

I imagine Levy would probably ask, who are Bury.

And I don't include in that clubs whose own greed led to their downfall. But for the sake of a small fraction of the fee, a whole load of good could be done further down, as well as lower division pro clubs. An example again, Gate where the presence of 200-300 Pool fans for one game was a massive difference and helps them a lot. Imagine the £1m split into 10k and 100 non league clubs helped by it. Then another hundred the next time one of the group of pillocks feels like showing off.

Nice idea in practice but unfortunately there are a hell of a lot of bad owners in all league's if I was the Spurs owner no way would I want to fund a Bolton for example who nearly went bump.
