Keanu Baccas

Dreamer, that money has long gone and if Jerry get sold don't expect the money to go towards the team, it'll get eaten up paying for this season's losses, same old same old.
You have access to the club's detailed finances then? If you have perhaps you could provide more detail, or was it just a throw away remark.

Who says they more chance of signing him than us? If some poster says so on AVFTT then obviously it must be 100% true😂😂😂😂 Baccas will be of interest to a number of clubs as will many many other players - he (unsurprisingly) may/will want to speak to some or all of these clubs to explore the options. I’m sure if it comes down to wages we will be as competitive as anyone.
We weren’t last season. If memory serves me right we were in the bottom three employers in the division. At a certain point you get what you pay for.

That’s a poor comparison. Last season we were at the bottom end in terms of wages as it’s the Championship and the majority of teams have huge budgets/crowds/resources that we simply do not have plus you have the teams that have parachute payments. In lg1 we are/will be in the top 4,5 or 6 of wage payers which will at the very least make us competitive and in fact make us much more attractive because you are right in that money talks ( we will be able to pay more than most) and you get what you pay for.

Luton were also in the bottom 3 but they were obviously far better run than we were.
Don’t disagree - they showed last season (and for a number of years) that with savvy recruitment you can survive and thrive in the Championship. Sadly we totally fooked it up last season.

Can't believe that some still want to sing about that lot from the other end of the M55.
It's a decent song without that line.

Is Sadler away on holiday and incommunicado for the last week of the transfer window?

I heard he has just purchased a second hand Fax machine from a Blackpool charity shop, it was next to a stuffed Wooly Mammoth and a cash cow.
As annoying as those days under KOKO were, at least it was entertaining!

So we have all this money in the kitty but didn't think it was necessary to spend any of it to secure our Championship status! Get real man that money has long gone as will the Jerry Yates money when we give him away.

With Baccus and King Kenny in midfield, The Wizards of Oz! Hopefully having a fellow countryman in the team may sway him to sign for us.
And, if ever the illustrious Aussie duo were to find themselves losing favour and were rarely being selected for games, I suppose they would be quite within their rights to go marching into Critche's office, with the orchastrated chant of:

"BACCUS OR SACK US!"

We were in for him at £800k. Now it's more like £250k. Worth the gamble.
Kev Stewart was a free transfer. Wages wont be insignificant. Give them to a guy with a clean bill of health.

It also looks a but like we may be going for an old target in the absence of new ones. Turning a blind eye to the significant injury he has since incurred.

He played 16 times for Peterborough after he'd recovered, which included some impressive results like an away win at Barnsley. He's a good player, and would bring some attributes to the club that we're desperately lacking. I don't think our interest in Baccus was as strong as Bolton's - we've been after Norburn for a while now and I suspect it's his leadership and experience we want more than anything, considering the players we've released. In those attributes, Norburn has much more experience and is captain, so would be the better target if that's what we're looking for.

Sure. We need experienced leadership. Will he pass through the new tighter medical filter?

Baccus will be an abosolute snip if they manage to get him for £275k.

Thought he was exactly the type of player our ‘model’ was looking for.

Are we saying Bolton have pulled out of the deal (presumably as they are going all in on Norburn) and we have agreed a £250k fee for Bacchus? Just want to be clear 😂
I dint think so. Bolton had reportedly agreed a fee. Which may or may not be true. The deal has broken down but no official reason for that has come out. Either Bolton or the player has pulled out. Baccus has been previously linked online with Rangers, AEK Athens and Championship clubs like Norwich but that may just all be internet waffle.

He got injured

Some on Twitter saying they've pulled out due to a work permit issue, some are saying its because a Championship club came in for him.

Regardless, it doesn't sound like it's happening which might explain why they've come back in for Norburn.

Report from Bolton paper

''Bolton have declined to comment on their reasons for pulling out of the deal - but it is understood that Baccus will be staying with St Mirren as things stand.

Baccus did have scans on a knee injury late last season which he had been playing with since the World Cup but has since returned to training with his club.

St Mirren boss Stephen Robinson said in April: "He came back from Australia with it since the World Cup.

"It flared up yesterday after training. I think we just need to investigate it.

"We will have a look and get scans on Monday and then take it from there."

We were told Norburn is signing this week, so they shouldn'thave been able to be back in for him of thats the case, so either it wasn't agreed or he still is signing, or has signed.

Yep, St Mirrens manager said he came back from the WC with a knee issue, it's flared up today (maybe yesterday, but it's in today's Bolton News) and he needs a scan, The Bolton News reckon he's due to stay at St Mirren.
The WC?! Straining too hard? 😆

That's what you'd think, but according to some Norburn deal is off, we shall see this week!
