You have access to the club's detailed finances then? If you have perhaps you could provide more detail, or was it just a throw away remark.Dreamer, that money has long gone and if Jerry get sold don't expect the money to go towards the team, it'll get eaten up paying for this season's losses, same old same old.
We weren’t last season. If memory serves me right we were in the bottom three employers in the division. At a certain point you get what you pay for.Who says they more chance of signing him than us? If some poster says so on AVFTT then obviously it must be 100% true Baccas will be of interest to a number of clubs as will many many other players - he (unsurprisingly) may/will want to speak to some or all of these clubs to explore the options. I’m sure if it comes down to wages we will be as competitive as anyone.
We don't know that we have any interest at all in signing him.Bolton are in a financial mess and yet seem to have more chance of signing Baccas than us.
That’s a poor comparison. Last season we were at the bottom end in terms of wages as it’s the Championship and the majority of teams have huge budgets/crowds/resources that we simply do not have plus you have the teams that have parachute payments. In lg1 we are/will be in the top 4,5 or 6 of wage payers which will at the very least make us competitive and in fact make us much more attractive because you are right in that money talks ( we will be able to pay more than most) and you get what you pay for.We weren’t last season. If memory serves me right we were in the bottom three employers in the division. At a certain point you get what you pay for.
Luton were also in the bottom 3 but they were obviously far better run than we were.We weren’t last season. If memory serves me right we were in the bottom three employers in the division. At a certain point you get what you pay for.
Don’t disagree - they showed last season (and for a number of years) that with savvy recruitment you can survive and thrive in the Championship. Sadly we totally fooked it up last season.Luton were also in the bottom 3 but they were obviously far better run than we were.
As annoying as those days under KOKO were, at least it was entertaining! Is Sadler away on holiday and incommunicado for the last week of the transfer window?
I heard he has just purchased a second hand Fax machine from a Blackpool charity shop, it was next to a stuffed Wooly Mammoth and a cash cow.
So we have all this money in the kitty but didn't think it was necessary to spend any of it to secure our Championship status! Get real man that money has long gone as will the Jerry Yates money when we give him away. You have access to the club's detailed finances then? If you have perhaps you could provide more detail, or was it just a throw away remark.
But I'd like to think we'd bid higher than £250k if we really wanted him?Maybe we preferred Baccas, but lost out, and Norburn was backup?
The other way round. We were in for Norburn a year ago.Maybe we preferred Baccas, but lost out, and Norburn was backup?
The Muckers seem to be the softest cocks around if you read their Twitter today. Rattles well and truly out of the pram. Weird bunch.Fuck me, another thread infested with negativity regarding or club
So fuckin what if Bolton are interested, some of you soft cocks have already thrown the towel in it seems
Pathetic
I don’t doo twitter, what’s going on?The Muckers seem to be the softest cocks around if you read their Twitter today. Rattles well and truly out of the pram. Weird bunch.
And, if ever the illustrious Aussie duo were to find themselves losing favour and were rarely being selected for games, I suppose they would be quite within their rights to go marching into Critche's office, with the orchastrated chant of:With Baccus and King Kenny in midfield, The Wizards of Oz! Hopefully having a fellow countryman in the team may sway him to sign for us.
Before his ACL operation though. I know it's a bit of a cliche but it feel a bit like here we go again. Are we missing Kev Stewart already? Do we learn? The other way round. We were in for Norburn a year ago.
We were in for him at £800k. Now it's more like £250k. Worth the gamble. Before his ACL operation though. I know it's a bit of a cliche but it feel a bit like here we go again. Are we missing Kev Stewart already? Do we learn?
Kev Stewart was a free transfer. Wages wont be insignificant. Give them to a guy with a clean bill of health. We were in for him at £800k. Now it's more like £250k. Worth the gamble.
Sure. We need experienced leadership. Will he pass through the new tighter medical filter? He played 16 times for Peterborough after he'd recovered, which included some impressive results like an away win at Barnsley. He's a good player, and would bring some attributes to the club that we're desperately lacking. I don't think our interest in Baccus was as strong as Bolton's - we've been after Norburn for a while now and I suspect it's his leadership and experience we want more than anything, considering the players we've released. In those attributes, Norburn has much more experience and is captain, so would be the better target if that's what we're looking for.
Which is, have you got any broken bones at the moment?Sure. We need experienced leadership. Will he pass through the new tighter medical filter?
But you had a sty in your eye 20 years ago? Sorry we can't risk it.Which is, have you got any broken bones at the moment?
No.
You're in.
Fee agreed at 250k for Baccas….Notlob have pulled out of the deal today…Having a medical at Bolton - the fee is apparently £250k which to me seems like a steal. Obviously we preferred Norburn
Get in thereFee agreed at 250k for Baccas….Notlob have pulled out of the deal today…
We’ve had a fee agreed?Fee agreed at 250k for Baccas….Notlob have pulled out of the deal today…
Are we saying Bolton have pulled out of the deal (presumably as they are going all in on Norburn) and we have agreed a £250k fee for Bacchus? Just want to be clearWe’ve had a fee agreed?

I took it as Bolton had agreed a £250k fee and then pulled out. Although I'd love it if we snuck in there at £250k and got himAre we saying Bolton have pulled out of the deal (presumably as they are going all in on Norburn) and we have agreed a £250k fee for Bacchus? Just want to be clear
I dint think so. Bolton had reportedly agreed a fee. Which may or may not be true. The deal has broken down but no official reason for that has come out. Either Bolton or the player has pulled out. Baccus has been previously linked online with Rangers, AEK Athens and Championship clubs like Norwich but that may just all be internet waffle. Are we saying Bolton have pulled out of the deal (presumably as they are going all in on Norburn) and we have agreed a £250k fee for Bacchus? Today? He got injured
Yep, St Mirrens manager said he came back from the WC with a knee issue, it's flared up today (maybe yesterday, but it's in today's Bolton News) and he needs a scan, The Bolton News reckon he's due to stay at St Mirren.Today?
We were told Norburn is signing this week, so they shouldn'thave been able to be back in for him of thats the case, so either it wasn't agreed or he still is signing, or has signed. Some on Twitter saying they've pulled out due to a work permit issue, some are saying its because a Championship club came in for him.
Regardless, it doesn't sound like it's happening which might explain why they've come back in for Norburn.
The WC?! Straining too hard?Yep, St Mirrens manager said he came back from the WC with a knee issue, it's flared up today (maybe yesterday, but it's in today's Bolton News) and he needs a scan, The Bolton News reckon he's due to stay at St Mirren.
That's what you'd think, but according to some Norburn deal is off, we shall see this week!We were told Norburn is signing this week, so they shouldn'thave been able to be back in for him of thats the case, so either it wasn't agreed or he still is signing, or has signed.
We will, who's saying it's off though? That's what you'd think, but according to some Norburn deal is off, we shall see this week!
@BlackpoolFCWe will, who's saying it's off though?
Norburn is going to Bolton. Both clubs offered him a good deal. He’s from Bolton and that seems to have swung it. We have plenty of irons in the fire as alternatives.
Risky signing
