KENNY DOUGALL DEPARTS BLACKPOOL.

Maybe I don't want my club to look like childish little twats.

Don't behave one way for a key player leaving and another for another key player just because it might not have gone.

Doesn't look good for recruitment, players talk.

Nothing to do with bed wetting is it, we've campaigned for us to have a football club to behave like a football club.
£7, OOO,000 those two goals were worth alone so a bit more than a terse statement is frankly out of order and it's not bed wetting it just wanting some class from the club.

Not being awful but what do people want a party at the Armfield club, he obviously played his cards six or so weeks ago and he wants out that's football, it has happened before and will again.
I made it clear, the amount of social media posts, the statement and Chairman comments for Jerry Yates compared to this doesn't look right to me.

It just looks really shite to be honest. But, that's the social media and content coming out of the club. Completely failing to drum up any buzz about this club this season.

Blackpool FC is severely lacking class at the moment.

So what if the player hasn't behaved professionally? Does a football club ignore that and provide gushing platitudes?

I'm just glad it's sorted. He's given us some great memories but something not right with him behind the scenes for the last few weeks. Nobody on here knows what has happened so slagging the club off for a thank you statement, albeit short, is a bit shit really.

Kenny had better give a heartfelt thank you to us fans or I'm gonna go mental!

Or just react the same as every player that has left. It isn't often a player leaves you after being a massive part of your last Wembley trip and subsequent avoiding relegation the season after.

Think the morale high ground and similar reaction to Jerry is the best route forward. Just looks bitter and pathetic to be honest.

It seems a slightly strange move to me, I would've thought from a financial p.o.v he'd have been better off looking at Saudi.

It looks that way to you. It looks pretty straight forward to me and others too. Think you're making a mountain out of a mole hill personally.

Shame it’s ended up like this. Kenny did well for us and deserved a good send off.

But the last six weeks have obviously drained the club of their goodwill towards him.

I think his idea was he could simply leave on a free. He could. Next June. Before that he was contracted to play for us, and if he left we were entitled to a fee if we transferred him.

From one comment on here about Burinam, it sounds like a backwater and he and his partner may come to miss Manchester more than they expect….

Good luck Kenny, thanks for your Wembley goals and your efforts

Surely a replacement is needed now? Dougall was one of the first names on the team sheet until 6 weeks ago. Sure Morgan and Norburn have developed what looks like a good partnership over the last few weeks but Norburn has been in and out with injuries and this is Morgan’s first run of form and we’ve no idea if he can maintain that for the whole of the second half of the season. Behind them is Virtue, Carey, Oakley-Boothe and potentially Connolly who are all either inconsistent or unreliable in their own ways

Great opportunity for him and glad to see that the club haven’t stood in his way. Good luck Kenny and cheers for them goals late in May in 2021.

I get what you saying but the two players departures are totally different, i personally don't think Dougall has done himself any favours in the way it has panned out wheras Jerry was upfront put things on social media etc, obviously we don't know what has gone on behind closed doors but to me it looks like he has forced a move out of the club

Years of service... it's a football club ffs, not the armed forces.

Big fan of Dougall's. That day out at Wembley in 2021 was great... but he wants out, so fair enough. Move on. It was obviously contentious, so, so what if it's a short statement, really?

People will skrike over anything on here.

What's your point? My point is that a simple thank you just would have been nice.

He has done himself favours. He's got the move he wanted.

Thanks Kenny, brilliant player for us and some fantastic moments.

A little disappointing ending, but we've seen similar before when Bowler was rested. We also don't see the full picture.

Pretty sure we won't really remember the end but the goals to fire us into the championship.

Even if the club is pissed off, it's just decency to thank someone who has given years of service.
i don't get it why would the club be pissed off, believe me players look after themselves and as i said previously he will have forced this move, so good luck to him, but as a club and team we have bigger things to sort out for the rest of the season. Other players will leave that's football I'm afraid

Oh dear, how sad, never mind. There will be more players along in the coming years to give us new memories.
Personally I will never forget his one minute cameo against Burton in the Bristol LVD Johnstones Van Paint Trophy.
Downed tools got what he wanted and seemed not to bother about what the fans wanted or club needed.

I am not sure Saudi clubs would be in for him. If they were, then they would be the place for a last payday.
He's a full international, and likely a cut above most of what's playing there already, I'd have thought there'd be reasonable interest in him.

Maybe his conscience doesn't allow him to go there. Maybe his Thai roots are more important. Dollars are not the only fruit.
Perhaps, but it's a short career, and he's closer to the end of it than the beginning, he'll have earned decent money during his time in England, but he's not set for life, and if they're willing to pay however many hundreds of thousands p/w for back-pass Henderson, he might be able to get somewhere close to PL salary levels.

But he maybe has principles that mean he'd not go there. Unlike Bendo Hendo. Or his Mrs doesn't want to YouTube from Saudi. Who knows? He has Thai roots. He's made his choice. It's nobody else's business.

Whatever or however we think Kenny has gone about it, do you not think the club should just communicate properly and give a farewell like normal.

They aren't different, Jerry wanted gone also. He hasn't dragged his heels because he didn't need to.

Also, Neil said that Kenny was available to be selected the entire time and was in training.

This is pure speculation with zero substance or factual evidence.

Don’t care how he left, the club should’ve put a little more effort into the player who gave people their best day out since the O’s left.

But it’s not a huge deal and if the club felt that he didn’t deserve anything because of how he left then so be it, not a huge issue.

Very curious to see if we bring in central midfield reinforcements. Kenny was one of our highest earners, with that wage gone + a fee for him you’d think we’d have enough capital to get a solid replacement, but with only a week left in the window it’d be a bit difficult. Perhaps a loan, but who?

Will Critch feel comfortable with just Norburn, Morgan, Virtue, Carey, and Tashan Oakley Booth? I certainly don’t…

Yeah I tend to agree. I see Dan Gore has gone to Port Vale. Could have been an interesting one, but maybe a bit too young for us just now.

I totally get what you are saying, to be honest none of us knows what's gone on and probably never will, what else would you have liked the club to say? they thanked him, what was put out was a generic kind of communication that seems to be the norm nowadays when anyone leaves any club.
But to be fair to Neil we dont know what he was able to say or was just told what to say

Curious move for him. Yes he’s part Thai, but you would have that he would have gone to Bangkok rather than a provincial town in the poor North East of the Country.

About time this was sorted. Terrible statement as well, but just done now and we move on. Hopefully we bring in another MF before the end of the transfer window. Good luck King Kenny.

The Club definitely need to bring in a replacement. Given the uncertainty over the last few weeks it's unlikely to be a permanent signing though - they don't usually materialise overnight.

I too am a tad surprised at the curt statement issued by the Club - it smacks of a lack of respect, which is poor leadership given the times that we are in. For my part, I would like to wish him well - he has been a very good player for the Club. Perhaps Club Management should put wounded pride to one side, and recognise that fact, and conduct themselves more professionally.

Good servant to the club and this has been badly handled by all involved..the most important thing now is to sign a suitable replacement ..preferably an upgrade… if he isn’t replaced at all then it’s not great for our promotion prospects…time to show some ambition and push the boat out for a quality permanent replacement or a minimum of a big loan signing

I've worked and managed quite a lot of people in my time and had people leave my teams after downing tools after getting new offers and becoming disruptive. No matter what happens you still give them the send off they deserve.

Disagree buts lets beg to differ. lets just say they could of both conducted themselves better

Why don't you organise a barn dance for Kenny to give him a proper send-off, Country Boy?

Thanks for the memories Kenny, but thank God that saga is finally over. Now let hope the club have his replacement lined up and ready to go.
