Is there anyone on this site currently living the keto lifestyle Who may be able to advise me ? Due to some health issues, my GP has advised me to go on a low carb regime , so I need some advice on the best low carb bread, preferably rich in protein and fibre. Any advice would be most welcome. Thanks !
Carbs are fine if you are exercising hard - to sweat level. Otherwise it’s deposited as fat
Best option you can take outside of living a hell is become friends with Eggs, Chicken and Greek Yoghurt.
You can have as much veg or salad as you like. Avoid, Avoid Avoid Fruit..... seriously fruit is so high in sugars and genetic testing shows that the majority of us cannot process fruit very well (unless you are a distance runner and even then it’s an inflammatory food)
Avoid pasta, bread, rice. Switch potatoes to sweet potatoes
Breakfast - Greek unflavoured yoghurt or Fage / Skyrr. High protein and filling. If you need flavour buy a small tub of flavoured protein powder and put one scoop in. Tastes like a desert but will keep you full up for hours and hours and very little Carbs.
Lunch. Eggs, chicken, fish. Salad of course.
Dinner as above - plenty of veg or salad (become friends with Spinach!)
Obviously beer and sweets/crisps need to be massively cut back as they are high sugar/salt
It won’t take you too long to get your health where you want it bud. Don’t go starvation diet as it will be hell to do. Scrambled eggs or omelette are my go to when I’m lazy and want fast food - Chuck in the chillies as they speed up your metabolism
