I’ve had a number of reports after the last couple of home games of a few fans giving a really hard time to the guys and gals serving at the concourse bars. I know we all get frustrated when things aren’t going too well at the Club, but it seems that frustration is occasionally spilling over into abusive and aggressive behaviour towards the staff behind the counters. It’s not acceptable and they don’t deserve it. Please show some patience and treat them with respect. They are family. Thank you. UTMP!

O/T: Did the innocuous fan who held a flare aloft on the stairway next to Block E?, at the start of the season, get his ban overturned or at least reduced?
Fans sat around him, thought an exception should be made in this particular case, as he wasn't (cough) a full shilling.

This was within days of Rangers fans being freely allowed to do give a flare display in the South Stand without constraint.

I know you said you would look into this, and realise it's not your fault if the decision didn't go in his favour.

Staff: We’ve sold out.

Fan: Hot dog then please

Staff: We’ve got none left

Fan: Jeez, is this a food kiosk or what? What have you got left?

Staff: Right! That’s it! I’m telling the SLO!! He sorted out a sitting area at away matches so he’ll sort you out!

I go to the post-match debriefs. I get to hear this feedback from the concessions staff. It's not "just another stick to beat our fans with" (what a strange reaction) and I was clear that this is a few fans - but certainly the number of incidents has been on the increase recently. It's upsetting for those on the receiving end of it, so my post was a request to those responsible to be more mindful.

If it’s that bad and genuinely scary or personal abusive then Stewards should deal with it surely?
 
So it’s ok to beat the bar staff with a stick but not the fans ?

It’s someone’s son or daughter serving you, it’s not difficult to be polite and there is certainly no need or justification for abuse.

Why is everyone so precious and touchy about messages like this 🤷‍♀️ If it’s not you then just read and move on surely.

I just find it a weird one. If it’s not put your litter away in the bags at the bottom step, don’t stand up at away games, it’s don’t abuse the cafe staff?

With 10,000 home fans, it has to be a very very small fragment of the fanbase so think it’s a weird post.

Just deal with it in the ground.

Ye I’m sure it’s a minute number. Maybe it’s just that social media is the way to communicate everything these days. Or one of the ways.

I wouldn’t get worked up about it though, if it’s not you, as I’m sure it isn’t, then chill 👍
 
My Bovril was too hot last Saturday I burned my mouth who am I supposed to blame?

It’s also far too weak as well another half spoonful is needed.
 
Blackburn have banned fans from taking flasks into Ewood Park on health and safety grounds apparently. Tartan blankets may be ok though.
 
I haven’t nor wouldn’t give the kiosk staff any abuse.

People would be daft to, then again we have a lot of daft fans.

But @SLO_BFC how the kiosks are managed and operated is a complete nightmare, and makes people’s experience interacting with them a nightmare.

Creating friction which leaves the poor sods behind the counters getting grief.

As people have mentioned on here. Massive queues that take 15/20 minutes at half time or in the twenty minutes in the lead up to the game, poor stock levels, rude staff the list goes on.

I’ve sat in every stand this year and for most seasons tbh and it’s never been right for as long as I can remember.

Just wondering if that’s been looked at? Because it not only cuts this shit off at source it adds a bit more revenue and improves the match day experience, something BM &SS have mentioned as being important in the past.

Increase outlets, increase food available, improve the food etc etc etc
Bit like saying the players are getting abuse because the whole club is underfunded and badly run for the playing customer

However - agree - no need to abuse the staff!

What a weird post on a football forum where 99% are anonymous behind a user name.
Should be on the club site and then sent by email to everyone on its database.

It's obviously the ones getting touchy about the message that are the ones most likely to be abusing the bar staff.

Well said Lala ,some real ignorant people in our fan base, patience and good manners are what made Britain great(maybe this is part of why the country is looked upon by many in the world as not so great any more) 👍.
 
Sorry Mr SLO it was me but it won’t happen again, just to be clear though, please can you point me in the direction of who to shout at when the texture of my pie is not up to scratch👍🏻

Don’t shout at anyone…

Simply take a photograph of the offending pie, upload it to the BFC Complaints App, fill in your feedback / complaint and press send. 👍

Yes, we are a family, but as in some families, there’s always one who will let us down.
It’s not difficult to be nice to staff whatever job they are doing.
Taking your litter to a bag helps the few volunteers who clean the stands after a match.

More interaction to start with. What have you sent on Twitter this year? 2 posts? You walk around with a silly high viz on I can’t see any benefit to the fan base that you bring in your role. Not approachable and almost anonymous on social media. Waste of space.

Why is the number of people abusing others relevant? If it’s only one person or 1000 the message is the same, don’t be abusive to people trying to do their jobs.

Also any examples of:

Ball boys/girls being slow.
Players not clapping their team mates with encouragement when we concede
Those unnecessary ear rings that make the earlobes look like a polo mint on steroids
South standers not singing (you might be on the app a while but it’s necessary)
Maxi brushing his hair back instead of coming off his line
Stewards watching the ball bounce past them when we are losing and chasing the game
Anyone calling Patino shite or screaming for CJ to come on the pitch
Staff gossiping when there’s poisoned pies to sell
