Kyle Joseph - SIGNED

If we get Kyle Joseph + 2.5m that’s seriously good business. I can understand those who don’t see why. But give it a couple of years and nobody will be arguing with that transfer. V surprised if it happens though, don’t understand why Swansea would let him go even if Yates is fantastic.
Agreed, there's a decent chance that Joseph in two years is better than Yates is now.

It only makes sense if Swansea are in a "win now" attitude where they don't have time to develop assets, which they are.

They probably didn't have the money to afford the full fee which is why Joseph is involved. Great business if it's true.

Barry..what would happen if two clubs agreed to swap two players who they both agreed were of equal talent….no money would change hands and no compo would arise…. Unless there is arbitration to decide what market value is of the players and then make a ruling…

25:40 onwards

It's actually not that relevant to our situation after all. I still think after listening to it, a value would have to be agreed as part of the transfer. I think Rotherham and Wigan would both have a reasonable claim to any sell on % owed. This might mean together Blackpool and Swansea agree that the fee for Joseph is only £100k for example, so we both owe less.

Yes a value for Joseph will be agreed and 20% will go to Rotherham. It will have to be feasible, or Rotherham will appeal and may get it changed.

Oxford fan on twitter just said that Swansea wanted around £1m for Joseph, he would have been a club record fee for them. That's why the deal had been taking time.

Nice goal away at Pompey last season, at the start of the video...

And Oxfords 3rd and 4th goals at Exeter.

Would certainly soften the blow getting Joseph. Looks to have bags of potential.

Watched a few of his goals earlier and he looks the real deal.

Sam Nombe is someone I hope we add also. Little piece on him today…

Definitely fits the profile of the kind of player we are looking for young with plenty of potential to improve.

I think we all must agree this is a very good signing for us. Will be interesting to know
what the length of contract will be.
Bet there is a sell on fee as well.
We would have options if Beesley can step up to the plate, but would like 1 more striker then OK with the squad.
Need to then look at all the players in the squad out of contract in Summer as some need contracts extending whatever division we are in

We wanted £4m apparently. £2.5m transfer fee, a player they valued to Oxford at £1m and most likely add-ons. Suppose it probably all adds up.

Certainly softens the blow, seems to have a similar style of play to Yates from what Oxford/Swansea fans are saying. I said I hope if Yates is going, it happens early on so we can replace him - we're actually replacing him as part of the deal. Could work out as decent business, emotion taken out of it.

I’ve just posted on another thread surely they club need to issue a statement regarding Yates?
They were quick to dismiss the Critchley’s off again rumours so it would be nice to have confirmation one way or the other. 🤷‍♂️
Agreed, however currently Yates is in the middle of signing for them, or not. So the club can’t say one thing for certain, unless it is certain!
As much as it pains us mere mortals, we need to remember this is football.
As someone else said, if Tottenham got relegated from the prem, Harry Kane would leave the club, despite being a spurs fan and “one of their own”.

If Oxford are in for him we are screwed as we can’t compete with them financially for some reason.
Sadler may be making sure we don’t mess this up, he’s more about the baby steps. Sadly, that baby fell over last season and it’s got a limp now, when it toddles.
He’s got to compete though, so I don’t get how this isn’t possible
