Couple of really decent chances last night which he missed - if Rhodes were to go, he doesn't feel like the instinctive goalscorer that Rhodes and Yates are - think we'd be relying on Lavery.

Agree he is not the old fashioned sniffer that bags a goal from nowhere. Has qualities though, if he gets some service I think he will do well. Could be the new James Quinn 🤣

He was always going to need a lot of patience and time from our supporters after a long time out and limited starting opportunities.

Hardly surprised he’s not getting it.

We'll have him and Rhodes up top the rest of this season, just need to get the balls into them, Lav's, Bees and the Beast to support them when needed. I love CJ but I'd much rather have Gabriel and Lyons or Thommo as our wing backs and I'd like to see Morgan and Virtue in the middle, with Carey, Dougall of course if he is here.

I'd have Pennington, Casey and Hubby as the back 3 although if Marv had played on Saturday he would have got a tackle in for the first, I'm sure he would. I wouldn't have Connoly anywhere near the starting XI, bench yes, but not to start.

From what I have seen so far of KJ, he’s definitely in the Jerry mould and not a Rhodes or Kev Phillips.
He’s technically skilled, makes nice runs and works hard. He can finish well as we’ve seen but like Jerry probably needs more chances than a predator striker like Rhodes.

He was the same last season at Oxford. Will miss some quite easy chances, but score perhaps the ones you wouldn't. Definitely not interchangeable for a fox in the box like Rhodes. Best utilised wide in a front 3 from my experience where he can show his workrate up and down the pitch...

Doesn't get talked about much on here, Quinny but yeah - he was a cracking player. Probably my favorite Blackpool player of the time, other than the obvious Tony Ellis. He did end up playing 50 international games, 120 games for West Brom after he left us but he never quite made the mark for them and you're probably right that he didn't quite live up to his potential.

Anyway, Joseph is a long-term acquisition (most expensive signing in league one don't you know!) and I hope he gets the support he needs to find his feet with us. Definitely looks the part in spells but it'll take time and we might not see the best of him until later in the season.

I would hate to see the team some of the armchair managers on here would turn out. I know we all have opinions, but leave it to the ones who see him daily and know his strengths and weaknesses, if he is allowed any of them, and give him some time.

Quinny was one of those players who was brilliant on his day, but sometimes you knew after 2 minutes that today wasn't one of those.

Although don’t forget, Yates needed time to get firing.

Interesting looking at how much he has featured so far. After missing the first 16 league games he has featured in the last 6, a couple of 10 minute appearances and a max of less than 30 minutes. The FA cup match at 70 minutes is his longest stint to date. Maybe he was pacing himself on Tuesday. From what I’ve seen in his short cameos he has shown energy and skill in bursts. Much more to come in time.

He’s played 86 senior matches at the age of 22years 2 months
I’m not sure how many of those will be a substitute, but nonetheless, he’s played quite a bit of football at a young age

James Quinn was a great talent wasted unfortunately.
Quinn was famous for 3 things.

1. Scoring the first and fastest goal of the season at Ashton Gate. 8s, or was it 13s?

2. Scoring a screamer against Germany (west??) from 30 yards (the new Barnet away).

3. Giving his name to Quinnitis, a condition that invents an undiagnosable injury when you don't get the move away and which clears up at the hint of interest from a higher team (WBA).

Every striker misses a few, I would love to see the stats on most, probably 1 on four attempts at a guess, if he's getting into the positions then he'll get the goals.

As it would appear most of our fans have little understanding with regard to such complex terms as 'time' and 'patience', should he be fool enough to expect demonstrations of either from the fanbase, my considered advice to KJ would be, "don't hold your breath ..."
