Kylian! (Kouassi)

Kouassi is massive. An Akinfenwa lower league lump. A Sheffield Wednesday type of signing if you ask me....!

Odd one.

Kouassi to Blackpool? or a hoax rumour? If so, a bit of a strange one and another dent in our attack line...
Odd move as he is in development and doubt he will get much first team footie there this year. Perhaps we are cashing in a little as to afford other targets. I would rather he stay than go TBH.
Nope it looks pretty legit.

Or more likely we're not getting in the way of a player furthering their career. One could well imagine that at his stage in his career and where he has come from that he would be one of the lowest paid players on our first team books, so he won't free up much playing budget by leaving, and is unlikely to command a fee the size of Ajiboye.

To be fair, he wasn't getting a huge amount of first team football here last season either.

36 games for them in L2 last year, I doubt he'd want to come here just to play Central League football.
Tbf 31 of those were off the bench, in terms of minutes he played 857 which is obvs less than 9 games, but I agree he won't want to come here to play Development squad when he could be in and around their first team

I think he might be a bit of a crossover between the development squad and the first team, perhaps 15 - 20 minutes here and there as a substitute, but playing the full 90 for the dev squad.

I like Brad and being a local lad would love him to make it with us but is he league 1 standard? Not convinced myself.

Would love to be proved wrong though and if Critch looks at him and gives him a chance next season he knows more than I do so will trust his judgement
I don’t think he is either tbf.

Some on here would have been onto Morty telling him to stick a young Tony Green in the development squad.
Not just on here.

The Seasiders are looking to fill the void of Jerry Yates, however, I only see this signing as one for the future. It remains a possibility more strikers could be brought in, with Kouassi being loaned back to the fourth tier to continue his development.

Same thing we did with Casey, buy him and loan him out straight away for just development. I really doubt he will be anywhere near the first team this year.

Another Yusuf Ceesay, if it works brill and if not nothing lost. Worth a punt as it were.

This guy on the Sutton United doesn't sound like a fan:

"While KK has some good attributes and is a promising footballer, his awareness and off the ball skills are lightyears off L1 level, and his lack of pace is evident. Perhaps they see those as trainable weaknesses, but if someone offered 100k+ for him, I'd (in football manager 23 world) bite their digital hand off. I'd be shocked if this deal went through, but then maybe Dubai have purchased all the L1 level strikers for the relative pittance of 100k a week wages to keep Ronaldo et al on their toes. Who knows with this game anymore."

Sounds like a dev player who might feature off the bench

That's just some clever phycology he's trying to pull! Hoping to put off the scouts that are always scrolling through fan forums in hope that we'll leave him alone

I think what posters need to understand is that currently BFC recruit at all age groups from about 8yrs upwards. Nationally though we bring in players at 16 for the U18s, at 18/19 for the Development Squad and obviously for the 1st team.
We are alot better placed now to pick up youngsters from all around the UK.
There are quite a few players in the Club from 16 upwards now that are not local lads.
I'm not stating it as a fact because I don't know but I'm pretty sure Kouassi is one for the Development Squad. They are very light on strikers if Brad is going to in and around the 1st team.

Kouassi is 20 though. And I cant see Holmes being around the first team tbh.

The point to remember is the coaches etc have watched Brad develop over 2/3 yrs, they will know at what stage he is at and what he needs now.
A place in the 1st team he is not ready for as most of us know. For me a season away with AFCF or similar working on his 1st touch etc would be
the best thing for him IMO.

Would Fylde have him back?

I dont know if they would I only mention this as a example. Its upto Mr Downes etc to find a club for the lad. The benefits for the club could be a lot better. The club are looking to gain promotion with all due respect to Brad I 'm not sure he would be involved enough. Kyle Joseph is nearly 22yrs oid with 100 games under his belt, we are also looking for another striker or two. Better for him to be given an opportunity he can grasp !

I note that Kouassi has not played in Sutton's first preseason friendlies, including their 2- win against Reading today.
It could mean he is injured, or like Jerry at Southport, he is on his way
