Lancs v Yorks CC

90-0 at Lunch after winning the toss.

I couldn't have told you who was in the Blundered Final until yesterday (Mark Radcliffe said Mancs were in and lost).
 
Great start so far, the pitch looks pretty good for batting at the moment, so vital we get a big score.

Think it was the weather conditions rather than the pitch FCB.
I watched some of the game on the Lanky YouTube channel, and there was nothing for the Bowlers for most of the day . Just before tea, it clouded over, and the youngster Hill took 6 wickets.

We lost 8 wickets for 92 runs. Hopefully we can get our 3rd batting point tomorrow.

I should have said pitch/conditions. I haven't seen any of it today but it( the score) sounded promising. lets hope for tomorrow .
 
Shambolic barring in the last hour 231—1 to 280—8 (7 for 50, and, all in onesession)

When we get in our batsmen really do but I haven’t a clue what went on after K — J was out — u don’t win matches switching off lads — same a Sx last week

Thank god we have some runs on the board — Y lads won’t believe their eyes when they recheck the score card
 
Wait until both teams have batted … momentum certainly with Yorkshire but 300 may end up being a winning first innings score.
 
Also i missed the change of ball at 71/72 overs yesterday ,Bohannon hit a four under the covers and it got wet.Unfortunately the oldest ball in the box was a lot newer than the one they were using and combined with the change in conditions we all saw what happened.
 
Decent day for Lancs so far . . . Yorks 9 down at lunch and still 43 behind.

If we can get the last wicket quick and set them near to 300 tomorrow that would make for a great final day. 👍 🌹
 
Hants look like winning against Northants so even if Surrey lose their next game and we beat them I doubt we'll win the title.

Another six to Wells . . . he's scoring at 174 !!!

Isn't cricket more fun when batting averages are well over 100? I think this is a format that might catch on. Maybe 20 overs per side or 100 balls? Who knows..............

Excuse me? Do you know I am a wizard and could cut you down with a deadly fireball if I wanted to? 🧙‍♂️

Anyway. I have no issue with "white clothes" cricket as it happens being as that is all there was growing up. I just prefer the short form - as millions of others do that have embraced the evolution and betterment of our game. You can moan and groan for the good old days as much as you like but cricket is changing.

Great news that the ECB finally swallowed their pride and have included Alex Hayles in the T20 World Cup squad don't you think? About bloody time.

I suspect it’s not the ECB, it’s the lack of a Morgan knocking around!!

Money for the ECB if they can spread the game. They messed up with the T20.

That's the only reason it exists and suckers with the attention span of an amoeba wallow in it.

There is nothing to stop a 20/20 Franchise next season if the ECB would sanction it.
However, I enjoy 20/20 & One Day “County Cricket”.
Tests & 4 Day county Cricket are great when it close and not raining but normally it’s not at least one of them.
We should keep 100 but only groups of 4 teams 6 games and play less tests.
The County Cricket is Starved of its best players on national contracts playing too many tests. Ashes only should be 5 tests no other team following year 2 tests & 3 tests and a 3 test series in the winter.👍👍

I am so glad you are not in charge of cricket bud 👍

You could argue that certain teams do not have five test series but to just say England and Australia is somewhat mute.

We should definitely have five test series with India and probably with South Africa and New Zealand and obviously the Windies away 😉👍

The county championship should only miss 11 or 12 ish English players per test and should be seen as a feeder for test cricket.

The ECB can sanction what they like but they screwed up by not patenting 20/20 - and when it took off globally they got no reward - hence the hundred with them hoping it goes global - which I doubt it will with the power of the IPL

I love Test cricket, really enjoy 20/20 and like to 50 over stuff.

Athough Test is always best 👍
 
Regarding Hales, I said when Morgan retired he now has a chance of returning because Morgan had made his mind up and he wasn't get back in any time soon.

He has been fortunate in a way due to Bairstow's freak injury and Jason Roy looking like an average Palace Shield plodder for the last few months, but he is the sort of player who when he's on form, can win a match for you single handedly.

England have one of the most destructive top orders in T20 cricket anywhere in the world, lets hope our bowlers can do their bit too.
