Last Time You Used Cash To Pay For Something

I paid for a bottle of water and some mints on the way to the Cardiff match with cash... first time in over a year and a half using cash though.

Still cannot pay by card for less than a fiver.

Tipped staff at Armfield bar by paying cash.
Most grateful and old school way of appreciating their hard work.

Still the odd place place of cash only.

I use cash just about all the time, I've got cards in case anybody insists on them but not many folk refuse cash and I don't see that changing anytime soon.
I'm sticking with cash.

Sooo embarrassing trying to pay with my RHS membership card at the local shop. That's actually true....went to pick up the debit in the draw i keep it in and that was the result.

I think I get that ?

RHS = Royal Horticultural Society = Birdwatchers = Trainspotters ??????????????

Obviously I apologise to all birdwatchers and trainspotters who may have been offended by my equation.

He = Mmmmm See squared up.

Although not an equation.

Nowt wrong with twitchers. If it's out there why not see it.

Always unless I absolutely can’t for whatever reason, it’s ok saying it’s safer to use cards but it’s bonkers as whatever you buy is handed over by a human being who may be riddled with COVID , perhaps safer to get rid of human beings and replace them with vending machines, anyway as far as I know drug dealers, prostitutes, gypsies selling lucky heather & Karl oyston don’t use cash ( the latter hasn’t got any left granted) to the best of my knowledge not having dealings with any of the above I would assume they don’t carry little card machines around- do we really want them to have to go on benefits?

I've had £50 in my wallet for about 4 weeks. I bought 2 tins of cat food as my daughter needed change to get a tram so broke into a £20.

Very rarely use cash for anything.

6 stamps today at the Post Office pissed me off as my misses only gave me a fiver and it came to £5.10 so had to go out and find some change in the car.

That's another debate who uses Stamps nowadays?

I was just talking b0110x but it would appear that it is birdwatchers that I have offended.

I know very few twitchers and I will apologise in advance to you and anybody else offended by my lazy generalisation of such folk.

I'd say they are harmless, reliable and trustworthy but I wouldn't want to be on a night out and in a round with them.

Not used cash for maybe 3/4 years, really can’t remember the last time. Horrible dirty stuff, outdated method of making a transaction, IMO.

Will always have cash on me...but will use card as well.

But true story, met a very old and good friend and his wife who live in Surrey but were on their way to Edinburgh ( last year of their time share week) as they stop over half way up.
This was two weekends ago.
We had a meal with them and we wanted to share the bill but pay cash. Now the restaurant said card only but the better half insisted on Paying our share in cash(which as it turns out they were happy to accept).
What amazed us is our friends said they pay for everything by card( or more importantly using their mobile banking app😳😳) and that they had no cash on them whatsoever and that was fine by them.
Clearly me and the wife are either Living in the stone age or our friends are just plain daft.....personally we are happy to be in the Stone Age,bit like sitting in the South for some on here.
The fact I don’t have or want an expensive mobile contract to run my life ( pay as you go for us) might have some bearing on my policy.

Got a Chinese from the Kung Food Panda on Vicarage Lane, she doesn't do cards, best Chinese in FY4 though.

5 mins ago.. needed money for daughters flute lesson Tomoz so got twenty quid out and bought some chocolate hobnobs so had change. Hobnobs went down well with a brew 👍

Bleach

I'm thinking that the restaurant you were in will not be the "Card Only" organisation that accepts cash.

Especially after folk without cards have finished their meals.

If that's the roundabout one, I have always considered it to be just good enough but I haven't been in for ages and will give it a spin.

I do love a Chinese but nothing great in FY4, generally I don't like slating joints on the net but I recently had my worst Chinese ever from somewhere close to a famous place for kebabs in FY4.

The Rope & Anchor at Dunham Massey...our friend was adamant about them not accepting cash..the ultimate irony is we paid our half and the tip( in cash)...but they are two wonderful friends( even though United Supporters) so it hardly matters.
oh and the ( pub) restaurant was the perfect meeting place for us all and decent food.

Yeah, was Benny's before, wasn't great then, next to Curry Time or Shabzy's as it now, same owner though, that's not bad these days either, just don't get the curry.

We could go for a game of pool, dressed as owls, fall out and say 'two hits to who'. (say it fast)

Sorry Bleach, I didn't mean to criticise your friends, I just meant that while these places might prefer cards and I can see why, at the end of the day nobody is going to be refusing cash anytime soon.

I'm pleased to here you had an enjoyable time, I've just checked their menu on the internet and I can see why but Altrincham is a bit out of the way for me as much as I fancy a nice duck and cheesecake.

It's a shame that we appeared to have lost Plumbs, he was the king of the puns and would have been all over this.

There's maybe something with chicken and fowls but I am struggling to better yours.

Bought a diet coke and bottle of lager in the thatched on Sunday, two litres of milk and a loaf of bread Monday, might indulge myself and buy a chocolate bar or some sweeties with the cash I have left , it would be amazing if I have £2.50 left and I will purchae a lottery ticket, cash will be king tomorrow.
