The only time they want to be part of the family, is at feeding time...Premier League + Sky + PFA ..... time for you to be part of the so called ‘football family’
They've been on the cliff edge for a while.See Dover FC are on the brink.
Used to drink with a fella who spends his whole radio time listening to Talksport. He didn't half come out with some nonsense. They're called TalkShite for a reason....

Apparently, for a typical League 1 or 2 club, income to the club from iFollow for a match averages in the region of £7-£10k. Contrast that with ticket revenue and pies/pints sales from a 5k real crowd, which has got to be about £75k...?A lot will surely depend now on whether or not ifollow can sufficiently help fill the gap left by fans not able to attend. If not then I guess administration will be inevitable for many unless the season is stopped and contracts cancelled?
I would do it if I got an ifollow code. They need to restart selling season tickets I think. Might be the way through the next 6 months. What purpose does the 4000 cap serve now?It would be easy to over inflate ifollow monies if the club offer free codes to any ST they have sold. It would be interesting to know how many additional supporters would be prepared to pay for a ST if it was a question of seeing their club limp through to the end of the season. We have capped our sales at 4k. Would another 4 or 5k be prepared to do that, even if they didn't get a ifollow code in return?
It is interesting that Wigan aren't allowed to sell STs whilst in administration but have raised quite a bit in their 'Save Wigan' fund. The trouble is if that was passed across it may disappear into a black hole with no guarantee a buyer would be found
Can you really imagine any professional football league club sharing sensitive information like that with a bunch of charlatans like them?
It's just sensationalism masquerading as sports journalism, and it is what they do. Radio by bell ends, for bell ends.
Your sentiment is right but the reality is not everyone is in the position of “ contributing” the equivalent of the season ticket price. In fact the fact we sold 4000 is in my opinion a massive show of support already.I would do it if I got an ifollow code. If they sold season tickets now at £250-300, with an ifollow code, you would get all the home games which cost £10 each so it would pretty much cover the price and we may get back in the ground before the end of the season. It's a good deal for all concerned IMO. Not a case of charity.Your sentiment is right but the reality is not everyone is in the position of “ contributing” the equivalent of the season ticket price. In fact the fact we sold 4000 is in my opinion a massive show of support already.
When I renewed mine I was fully aware that I was certainly going to miss a number of games before anyone was allowed in and that even when we were allowed back I would probably miss a number of the home mid week fixtures as not exactly being a youngster the idea of a120 mile round trip in the middle of winter is no longer so attractive to be regularly doing.
It was simply something I wanted to do given the owners clear affiliation, and affection for the club ( plus the investment he has already put in) and it was something I could still afford to do at least for this season. Not everyone is able to do this but I am sure many will still try to support the club in whatever way they can.
At least I was one of the lucky ones to be there last Saturday.I just hope others will get the chance because right now who knows.
I'd just like to point out they've managed a minor run chase on here, including me of course so no offence meant (smiley)It's just sensationalism masquerading as sports journalism, and it is what they do. Radio by bell ends, for bell ends.
Who is going to buy a season ticket now, that hasn’t done already, in the knowledge that there is every chance there will be no crowds all season.I would do it if I got an ifollow code. Me. Cos it would cost similar to paying a tenner per game for iFollow. And I may get march, April, May in the stadium. And it helps the club too.Who is going to buy a season ticket now, that hasn’t done already, in the knowledge that there is every chance there will be no crowds all season.
I’m not knocking your idea and it would be great if as many people as possible would do it were the club to offer more for sale but as things stand I can’t see that happening. If they sold season tickets now at £250-300, with an ifollow code, you would get all the home games which cost £10 each so it would pretty much cover the price and we may get back in the ground before the end of the season. Maybe not, but it makes sense to me. I suspect quite a few fans are watching games on iFollow and would pay 250 to get the rest of the home games with the chance of being in the stadium for the last part of the season and the opportunity to help the club out.I’m not knocking your idea and it would be great if as many people as possible would do it were the club to offer more for sale but as things stand I can’t see that happening.
Out of curiosity I wonder how the Ifollow works for the club with current season ticket holders.Maybe not, but it makes sense to me. There's a strong feelgood factor and a lot of appreciation for Sadler's commitment. And the financial outlay will be similar to buying each game on iFollow. As I've been saying!
True. Haven't a few Blackpool fans been on Talksport
I'm pretty sure it was an EFL decision, encouraging fans to commit to season tickets. Ordinarily, these matches wouldn't be available to home fans at 3pm on a Saturday anyway, so there's no loss of ifollow income to the EFL. In reality, the sums involved are relatively small. iFollow is being used to keep fans involved with their clubs, with hopefully fans being prepared to pay for merchandise etc to support the club financially too. Be interesting to know how many ifollow passes are bought for Saturday away games, since anything over 500 is bonus revenue for the club.Out of curiosity I wonder how the Ifollow works for the club with current season ticket holders.
I assume the club has to pay for the privilege of offering it “free“ ( sic) to current season ticket holders for home games so in essence there is lost revenue as I can’t see the EFL and the providers not wanting something out of it.Hopefully the club can negotiate a good deal.
Good news if that is the case.I'm pretty sure it was an EFL decision, encouraging fans to commit to season tickets.
