Let's have a positive Critchley thread.

A couple of wins and he will be hailed as a football genius.

Such is the fickleness of many football fans.

For me the guy is a solid football man with a good pedigree who wants us to play attacking and entertaining football. He feels he has the players to do it and he knows a damn sight more about football than anyone posting on this board.

We havent had the results yet but they will hopefully come.
Completely agree. I do admit I get worried that the board starts to listen to the bed-wetters and gives up on the ‘masterplan’ they have in place and remove Critch in favour of some short term fix - but I really do believe in what’s going on, I think the football is good and I think the medium to long term prospects are great. We just need to be patient to see the results. Players are improving and the squad is improving - as long as that continues then results will follow. If we pick up 6 points from the next 3 games it all looks a lot healthier and the season is back on track.

I’m positive the true believers are still believing and are convinced he’s the messiah. He could just be a very naughty boy though.

I still think he has issues with subs. And doesn't always know what to do when behind. But he's got them playing at this relentless standard now. It's great to watch. If the fans were at home games, it would be unreal.

He comes across as a lovely soft spoken and polite gentleman.

That is a compliment.

I just wish that when he gets his BFC tracksuit on he turns into a vein bulging, ranting, raging, swearing, arm waving, fist clenching bastard!
Why? If he's getting the team to play like they are without hairdryering them then that ll do for me. In fact I prefer it

Really happy with Critch, built great team spirit. Could prove to be on of our best managers/coaches fir many a year!

I was really hoping for the final run-in, we weren't going to sit on the system that was effective but not at all pleasant.

A massive positive for me is that he took quite a brave approach to a 1st half spanking from Burton, taking one of your two strikers off in a game where you need a goal is opening yourself up to criticism (I remember some comments of "is he for real" on here). Instead it was the exact system we were looking for with the players we have and we're now going into our final run in knowing we can defend, and now knowing we can score.

I have never been close to being a "Critchley-outer", but if we'd finished this season outside the play-offs having never looked a good team going forward it would have been worrying. Now if we fall short, I'll still be happy going into next year knowing what we are capable of. I'm glad he's "come good" in that regard!

Not for the knee jerk bed wetters!

Posters who say "bed wetters" should be banned for copying others or they are 14.

Oh and anyone calling others for being critical of the manager early in the season are idiotic liars because nobody was happy with it.

Just watched the Plymouth preview show with Chris Maxwell as the guest.
He was extremely positive about Critchy.
Well worth a listen.
Some good stuff from Andy Morrell and David Fox as well.

It was really good.

Maxwell said how each week in training is different to the last as they focus on preparing for that week's opposition. He also said how he and Madine had spoken about how they thought they had been taught to play the game wrong their whole careers because of the impact of Critchley's sessions. Can't really get much higher praise than that from two experienced pros.

I like Critch. Always have. You can tell from his interviews that he is a nice man. He's worked wonders since the beginning of the season and the addition of an experienced coach has probably helped him and the players.

There are still aspects to improve on - a lot of that comes down to the players making silly mistakes but he's certainly made me a believer and our club is in a fabulous place right now.

Good job he didn’t need smiling lessons from Calderwood...just the lessons about how to defend 😝
I looked Colin up on Google images the other day as I wanted a pic for my blog. Of about 60 images that appeared on the first page, there was roughly a ratio of 1 smile to every 59 terrifying stares.

Were he to be a managerial coffee pod, he’d definitely be a Dolce Gusto Grande Intenso!

I love the concept of managerial coffee pods.

Eddie Howe as a milky latte that's actually a lot stronger than you expect.

Brave man replicating an under 23 academy in the mans league. He is as it turns out The Messiah top job done.

Critchley is fast becoming one of my favourite Blackpool managers, if he keeps this up he might be one of the best managers in BFC history.

In Critchley and Calderwood (plus probably Stephenson as well) we now have a really sound combo. (I did say on here weeks ago that Critchley needed a good foil). My only current criticism of them is that I think they sometimes leave substitutions a bit later than they should. Not much of a gripe really. UTMP!

I think he will be a sought after manager in the not too distant future. Count your blessings while we still have him, he's DEVELOPED an excellent team/squad.

Picks up results with an injury ridden squad.

You put this current injury crisis on any of our former promotion winning squads and I wonder how well they'll do..
I've never known a Blackpool squad have as much strength in depth as this season has, we certainly didn't have 22 players capable of doing what the starting 11 did at Wembley in 2010.

Time for another bump.
I think's it's fair to say that Critchy (and his team) are maturing like a fine wine.
