He seems to be doing a decent job at Hull, was it our sliding doors moment that went from imminently appointing him to appointing Appleton and subsequently ending up with Critchley again?
Obviously I've heard the rumours why he wasn't appointed but personally I went from excitement on the prospect of him coming to the deflation of getting Appleton. I still think we would be in the Championship if he had come , not certain Obviously but probably. I've always thought he's an impressive individual.

Don’t know the reason he wasn’t appointed.

Suspect it was because he was untested and Appleton had more experience.

Hull had the advantage of knowing him and his character intelligence and leadership skills . Played 144 times for them.

Agree he is impressive but so are a lot of people in an interview .

Think you are right would probably have kept us up. He at least would have been supported by the fans which wasn’t a luxury afforded to Appleton .

No point looking back now though .

Was it something to do with the below par training facilities

He was the outstanding candidate of the ones we were linked with.

Why we ended up not appointing him, god only knows…. I’d have jumped at the chance.
Appletons experience and success in the loan market swung it for him I reckon.

Unless the above rumours are true of course . No idea.

I do wonder if ‘loans’ was the big thing as it seemed to play a big factor in our strategy under Appleton.

For me though (and in fairness I said the same thing at the time) I thought Rosenior was a complete class above (despite the apparent lack of experience)… As a character LR just had far more to build upon than MA and ticked every box for me.

He was intelligent & articulate, had been involved in coaching from an early age, had already demonstrated competence at Derby, had an absolute fire in his belly and something to prove as a young black coach, had a keen appreciation of human psychology, was pragmatic enough to grind a result when needed and was enthusiastic about the job itself..

Personally, I think he’ll end up being a top coach … Yiu can just see it it certain characters I think.

There was a rumour that it was all agreed, but then the club found out he'd lied about his salary at Derby to get a better deal here and felt he couldn't be trusted.

No idea if that's true or not though.
Heard that as well. SS said the trust had gone and he was off the list.

He stayed at Derby maybe thought he'd get the job on a permanent but after a decent start(12 games 7 wins) they got rid.
Didn't get the Hull gig till November.

HOLD ON.....The club said they met with Rosinior but they never discussed anything further and he was never in the frame for the job.
You can make up all the shit you want, just because you have a personal grudge against Sadler, doesn't make it true.

There are lots of rumours but I don't think we'll ever know, I don't believe he would turn us down because of that but who knows?
It was reported in the press(which could be wrong)but equally you can't blame Sadler on this if we don't know the facts.

He stayed at Derby and for them to get rid of him after taking pre season and a decent start was bonkers.

I remember the criticism that he was "too woke" from some posters. Laughable.

He's doing well with Hull but they have spent a lot of money on wages and fees, way more than we would ever have been able to muster.

They're signing players for 5-8 million and paying them 20-30 grand a week.

We seemed to pull back once our interest was common knowledge. Maybe we thought we were being used. Maybe we were🤷‍♂️. Seemed to happen a lot around that time. He just seemed like a “Blackpool “ type of appointment.

So W H Y is everybody saying this now ?

We've ball heard the speculation of why he didn't come here, but I do recall thinking at the time that he is exactly the right sort of young, vibrant manager we need and next minute Apples gets the gig.😩

Looking back we should have appointed him. He was my preferred choice at the time over Appleton and I am convinced we would have stayed up with him.
