It was said in the last season that Ted Hastings had an affair with a woman while he was in the RUC....and had to leave
Stephen Grahams Character was originally from NI as a kid....but moved to Liverpool because his mum disappeared because she was having an affair with someone........ in the RUC

So Ted is giving Corbett's wife money because he was/is.....his dad
 
As a Boy in Blue myself this program drives me up the wall. It's sooooo far from reality it's untrue

However, as a drama, and one that has you asking so many questions and recalling last episodes it's a belter. That little prick Ryan wouldn't last two minutes with the old sweats

Thank God I know what a CHIS is and an OSMAN warning or else I'd be scratching my head all the time it's on though
 
Its a good job all the offices have glass walls or this gig would never get off the ground. And, how many times are we going to look down those stairs and guess what the hell is going on in reception, the car park, the loo or anywhere else come to that?

Does Hasting have a face front or is he always side on?

And what's the name of the new detective working with Steve Arnott........Chloe...😱

If they didn't use the police DNA database for routine searches how would they have known it was the DCI's profile in there?

The other stock line for Ted is when 'Bent Copper A' says 'It's them you should be looking at' and Ted replies: 'Oh we will fella. We will...' or 'to the letter of the law. the. letter.'

I couldn't care less if it's totally inaccurate. It's just cracking good telly and I'm really liking the incessant build up of potential clues and potential red herrings in this series. Makes you paranoid about everyone. Just as Kate said to Steve....

Me too, but serving in 3 different Forces, I have to say there are similarities with procedures, and the 'rubber-heeled' section certainly inspired dread ( not that I was ever targeted or involved). Ive certainly served under bosses like Ted Hastings and also two Chief Constables that were investigated and took 'early retirement'. So not vastly different.

The gunfight at the Ok Coral was a TV only scene, it's that kind of stuff. I hate it when they have blues on to turn up to a lock up .... As you know they'd be out the back door sharpish

All the constant updates during jobs. AC63 now putting left leg forward, AC63 no putting right leg forward, etc

As for Ted, likewise I've had some top bosses and I do like him, I can think of a couple I've served under like yourself
 
anyone tell me what number episode was on last sunday? I've seen the first three so was it no 4?
With so many programmes getting cancelled because of Prince P, I'm losing track.
