I world Cup that doesn't have an element of fat, tatooed blokes dancing around a piazza throwing white plastic chairs isn't worth watching!!Whilst there’ll inevitably still be ‘nay-sayers’ about the women’s game, anyone who’s missed this tournament (And not just the Lionesses) has missed out on a feast of quality football, with some fantastic athletes producing some cracking games, performances & goals, 99.9% played in a spirit & atmosphere that puts a lot of what I’ve seen of the mens game in the last 12 months to shame, plus plenty of passionate support yet zero reports of p*ssed-up fans, rioting, fighting, throwing chairs through bar windows etc….
Quite sure there’ll be some on here wanting to take the proverbial, but this tournament has, in my opinion, frankly shown what football should be like.
Looking forward to Sunday, big-time….
QuiteWatching the game it is interesting from a coaches point of view that because women aren't as fast as men, you can employ a system which works to a far better degree than in the men's game.
All true and I’m glad it entertained but at the end of the day it’s a completely different game. Enjoy it in that way without comparison.Whilst there’ll inevitably still be ‘nay-sayers’ about the women’s game, anyone who’s missed this tournament (And not just the Lionesses) has missed out on a feast of quality football, with some fantastic athletes producing some cracking games, performances & goals, 99.9% played in a spirit & atmosphere that puts a lot of what I’ve seen of the mens game in the last 12 months to shame, plus plenty of passionate support yet zero reports of p*ssed-up fans, rioting, fighting, throwing chairs through bar windows etc….

20’s I thought just that at the time.shocking from Millie Bright. Just backed off and kept backing off. Should have engaged with her much further out.

Physicality, defending, pace, tactical set up. Need I go on. As I said nothing wrong with the entertainment but it’s not the same.Genuine question - exactly how do you perceive it to be ‘a completely different game’?
But they are as fast as each other so still have the same amount of time to make a decision which is usually a better one than their male counterparts.Watching the game it is interesting from a coaches point of view that because women aren't as fast as men, you can employ a system which works to a far better degree than in the men's game.
Squeek squeek. What are you? Man or a mouse??
Do we have any more contenders in this season's Middle Class Supporter category? What a performance. Oh the irony though, Sunday I could miss the second half as I've promised to go to an art exhibition in Manchester with my partner and daughter.

Kerr got the ball about 10 yards inside our half and just ran at Millie who, IMO, should have held her ground and made a challenge (even if she was carded)
But no, she just back tracked and left about 3 yards between her and Kerr which allows the room for the strike.
Hard to criticise Millie because she is the rock at the heart of our defence and take nothing away from Kerr for a fantastic finish.
Also if you are running back (especially against someone with a bit of pace) then all they need to do is knock the ball past you and they will have the edge because the defender has to turn.
Kerr is rated as one of the best in the world so maybe MIllie had that in the back of her mind.
