Lions or Maynards

Sports Mixtures every time, though I’m getting a bit too old in the tooth for them. Literally, unfortunately.
 
Used to be called the Sports Mixture Kid at school! Loved em, rustling in me blazer pocket for another couple to stuff in me gob during some boring lesson or other.

Me too, they tasted better out of a jar and paper bag.

Apparently Lions 3kg boxes still include the liquorice flavour.

Lions now owned by Tangerine Confectionary, so that’s next seasons club sponsor sorted.

Free quarter pound of mix as we pass through the turnstile.

Lions all day long, you can still get Lions sports mixture re-branded as football gums in home bargains
You used to be able to get 3Kg boxes from the Tangerine sweets factory shop, sad day when they closed that
 
I bought both on-yesterday, Lions of course and out of a sudden urge to go back to school days. I'm going to have to ration them though cos I bought quite a lot!
 
Lions midget gems but that black liquorice I could do without. Love those types of sweets but they've cost me a fair bit in fillings over the last few years. Don't forget fruit salad as well.
The one thing I have to mention is that as a supposed similar sort of sweet I can't stand Haribos although it seems they are the most popular with younger kids today.
 
Lions liquorice gums from home and bargains at 49p a bag. Addicted to them during lockdown.
Football gums too. Not seen butterscotch for years.
Good to see they are available online
 
Old Sweetie Shoppe (whatever it is) on Freeport does the proper Sports Mix with the proper tasting “black-uns” and not those half assed blackcurrant flavour in the supermarket pack version - they also have packs of just those - Poor Bens - think they are Lions Brand (and now I want some boo hoo!)
