Liverpool v Madrid

Liverpool are a great side with an excellent and likeable manager. I still find myself in the strange position of half hoping they fall on their arses and the reason is their smug, unpatriotic, entitled fans. All this scouse nation bollix really grates.
How funny would it be if, after all the close things under Klopp, the new bloke has as many Premier titles after one season.

Great game of footy. Curtis Jones ⭐🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 got to admit I thought he was Welsh for a long time.

Not often you see a Madrid side on 80 minutes that have had just one shot on target and that was a saved pen.

Clearly going through a Man City period.

Villa robbed at the death by a dubious ref decision.
He gave the goal then changed his mind and gave a foul on the keeper.

He seems a better manager so far if that's possible. More balanced, not hysterical, gives the young players the confidence to do their thing and doesn't seem in thrall to the big egos. Time will tell I suppose but his approach to talented young players could be a good thing for England. Which will really wind up the scousers!

Yet they were absolutely complimentary about us after beating them at Anfield
True Lewis, but you try living here on Wirral (where of course the bulk are gloryhunting reds, with Tranmere fans rare as rocking horse sheet) and having to listen to them day in day out. It's painful at times, and that includes several mates! 🤣

Elton Welsby was enough for me to hate Tranmere more than anyone in the early 90's, never mind plazzy Scousers!

Never got used to Tranmere fans saying they hate Scousers yet sounding like them🤣

I once went to a Tranmere preseason vs Liverpool.
There were scousers (Reds), plastic scousers (tunnel rats who wanted to be Reds), plastic scousers (Trannies) and plastic plastic scousers (Trannies who only went cos Reds were there). And me. Still can't hear out of one ear properly.

Real are a bit in transition but have form for starting slowly, just about doing enough and then peaking when the knock out rounds come along. As it stands Liverpool will be very difficult to beat but they had a mid-season crisis last season, can Slot keep the wheels on?

Real were outplayed by City last season but managed to get through.. their resolve is their strength, come the knockout phase

Why is it that any thread about Liverpool fc is used by the usual members to have a irrational moan about Liverpool people! Especially those who live, work and have friends and possibly family who live there too. Just move!🤷🏻

It's therapy. You try living with them 🤣

Just read this thread back and nobody mentioned the fact that Madrid have over half of their would be "1st 11" out injured. Liverpool still thoroughly deserved their win. But it was a much weakened RM side.

Alaba, Carvajal, Militao, Rodrygo, Tchouameni and Vinni Jnr..................all out/

Scousers are sound people, Liverpool is a great city. The Scouse stereotype is so 80's yet they're still tagged with it. No wonder the city has a siege mentality sometimes.

They did. I actually thought Madrid still looked dangerous from what I saw of it. They'd have turned over City on that performance IMO

I do and have for nearly 30 yrs. Best place I've ever lived and I've lived in many different places in this country and moved if it wasn't right for me. 👍
Well that's me told. I've lived here since 1987 and it's great most of the time, but I have noticed certain character traits that in equal measure amuse me and wind me up. On balance I've found the Evertonians and Tranmere fans have a better level of humility and interest in something that isn't their own world ...🙂
