Good luck since the council house sell off under Thatcher & the current financial climate there is a dire shortage of decent rental properties & prices reflect this. I know someone who looked for nearly a year & had to settle for somewhere in Bispham when ideally they wanted to stay in South Shore. My only suggestion from all that twaddle that you already know would be move fast & have everything in place. The bastards even want to charge you just for applying to rent. Also you do right to ask on here, as the word of mouth approach may be the best way of avoiding the stampede for advertised properties.

Looked at all sources.
Advertised properties are a joke. They don't even reply sometimes, possibly because we both work in decent jobs but it's easier to get rent of the state. Don't mind paying but some are really taking the piss.
Got 3 months yet but hopefully something turns up.

Just remembered the person who I mentioned in looking for about a year said some private landlords or just people who want to rent their houses out don’t go down the path of agencies but just put a sign in the window, as it’s so easy to get a tenant. Apparently they drove around the areas they preferred.
