Losing enthusiasm

Don't do this. You can't do that. Don't chant this. Don't chant that. Just be happy with your 0-0's and sit quietly in the process.

Really starting to think that the fans don't matter. I thought the club were very lucky to get as many ST's sold as they have done considering prices are pretty much the same as last season.

Now it seems like we aren't allowed to enjoy ourselves. It's all getting very boring 😴😴😴😴

What do you mean by "enjoy ourselves"? Seriously question btw. If you want to chant then do so. Be loud and proud. Just respect the obvious limits.

They’ve asked us not to stand in the aisle (reasonable). And for the drummer not to drum to one chant.
To my knowledge, based on what was reported back from meeting - They didn't ask him not to chant. They informed him that as he was identifiable (I.e. he was the one with a ** great drum) then he could be targeted and thus scapegoated.

The club as I understand it, was actually attempting to do the lad a favour by giving a heads up and saying 'for your sake, you might want to consider not drumming to certain things' because EXTERNAL bodies might target him (not the club) as a way of making a point.

I'm not Hoggy and I'm sure he can speak for himself as to whether that's right/wrong as he's an intelligent and erudite lad.

I am only relaying the situation as several different people have relayed to me.

The football is hardly inspiring, we havn't scored a goal in the last three games and no inspiring signings to get the juices flowing ( Norwood excepted )
There is more to the fanbase at Blackpol FC than rows A&B, there are fans that have no affiliations to any supporters group. How about the club gives a thought to the other 90% of the fan base.

Is it possible to drum in a discriminatory way ?

We only get to selective games ( work commitments and travelling hampering our attendance ).

We were at the opening game Vs Burton but Hoggy and his drum ( or whoever the drummer is ) wasn’t there. Do they still go to games ?
Got tickets for the Reading game so hoping to hear him drum up some atmosphere!

And I want to see the players whip up some atmosphere.

I’ve been back as a season ticket holder since the boycotts. I have never got back the same passion, I doubt I ever will. The modern English game is corrupt in so many ways.
There is no embracing the fan anymore, it’s just hassle going to games, prices, getting tickets, travelling, over zealous stewards, petty rules, stale atmospheres etc. I far prefer going abroad to watch games. 10x more enjoyable, they actually want you to be there and want you to have fun, which you can!
I could go on but won’t.
Let’s hope the quality of matches improve and we push on, then hopefully all the petty things that are being thrown at us just might not seem as bad as they are.

Think there's some truth in your final sentence Dave. A couple of quality signings along with a more attacking style of football & all the pettiness could be viewed as just that.
Agree about a feeling of disconnection, certainly with the PL & England. Greed & then some.

I’m in block C and have not been asked to sit down, not chant x y or z or anything else. I’ve heard the drummer has been asked not to drum along to a certain chant and a meeting has been made about keeping stairs and walk ways clear for safety but nothing else

I can enjoy football without the singing and chanting ,but it does add to the atmosphere . At this moment in time I think we need atmosphere because on the pitch is just awful .If Blackpool could guarantee 10 shots on target every game as long as there were no singing or chanting I would take that. Yet we haven't had 10 shots on target in the last 3 games put together it seems . On the bright side , as we are still undefeated Lincoln are a decent price at the bookies and I will make some money if they score because I am pretty sure Blackpool won't.

Another nob making weird stuff up.
Who made anything up?

Someone said is it possible to drum in a discriminatory way?

Judging by your reaction the answer is yes.

It's an example of something that if someone were drumming to it, would be seen as drumming in a discriminatory way.

Never accused a single soul of doing such a thing.

One thing to note is how wrong we can all agree that it would be, because racisms bad.

But sexism is alright though... yeah?

Sexism is fine... A Lesbian has formally approved it for us👍

Ridiculous OP, anyone who is losing enthusiasm after only 4 matches needs to give their head a wobble.

The season is a marathon not a sprint, you don’t define it by playing only 4 games.

We still have a manager who has a phenomenal record at this level and who achieved above and beyond what we were capable of last time.

The squad and style are still taking place, our business on paper has been solid with there being room to improve.

No one is saying it’s going perfect (it’s not, we’ve been poor in a lot of matches), just that we need to be patient.

The atmosphere is as worse as I’ve heard it in years boycott period aside. The club shouldn’t be worried about any chants.
Probably going to hard to match the highs of 2019-2022 isn’t it really?

2019 - club back
2021 - promotion and championship
2022 - championship
2023 - league 1

People are forgetting this is probably our lowest starting point in the Sadler regime, therefore atmosphere isn’t going to be as good is it.

Nothing to do with league table really. It’s the manner of the performances with limited signs of progression.

That's because they are European and as a nation we have opted to move away from Europe and take on the worst aspects of American culture.

If that's what they're feeling then how is it a ridiculous post? That's how they're feeling.

I personally am looking forward to tomorrows game but the first few games have been frustrating.

It’s a ridiculous post because I think the opinion of the OP is ridiculous, that’s my opinion.

First few games have been frustrating for sure, but it’s still so damn early.

I've been losing enthusiasm for ages, mainly because a section of our fans are entitled Neanderthals who don't know much about football and would be better off supporting Man City.

I'm also getting older and grumpier.
Maybe. At least Man City don’t play Kyle Walker at left wing back and Palmer at right wing back.

I hardly mention the performances of the team in the OP. It just feels like there is some aort of announcement every other week from the club trying to dilute what was a white hot atmosphere and one hell of an intimidating place to come.

Maybe instead of trying to constantly get on the backs of the fans, they should concentrate on the on field matters.

If you think my opinion is ridiculous then so be it. I wont be losing any sleep over it.

It’s ‘feels like’ there’s an announcement?

But there isn’t.... so stop whinging and start supporting and tell those few absolute twats who think enjoying themselves means throwing things at players and lighting flares is having fun, to stop. It’s the act of imbeciles and it’s costing the club thousands of pounds. Dicks.

What’s wrong with your generation ffs? Not an ounce of positivity or passion amongst you all.

Does retirement do that to you? If so, fuck that I’ll work until I drop. I look forward to match days. Win, lose or draw I love it - the highs and lows.
The option after a stressful week to shout, sing, get angry, get excited, get disappointed and then see mates.

The comment of I’d rather watch football abroad? Ffs I watch games as a neutral and barely raise a heart beat as I don’t give a fuck about the teams playing as my heart is always Pool.

Maybe it’s time you all took up gardening or pot painting and leave the football to the young and passionate if you can’t muster an effort?

I’m generalising as it’s not all retirees who are passionless however this forum seems to have collected the dour and limp 😡

You don’t have to be this way. Be 18 again! Remember those feelings
