M<y honest opinion.

I don't know about the general population but there has been an increase in secondary age schoolchildren being infected since masks no longer needed to be worn in schools

If you look at the heat map cases are overwhelmingly concentrated in the age range 15 - 30, so I'd suggest social contact without wearing masks, going round to peoples houses etc.

Masks are probably useful at preventing, or at least slowing the current outbreak moving up the age range, so I imagine they still are having an effect.

Fair point but there is hypocrisy all around and not just with Keir Starmer or Labour.

I'm struggling to think of anything in the history of mankind that has brought out more hypocrisy/hypocrites than this Covid.

Yes, he's wrong, in your opinion.

I am not saying they make zero difference and to be fair to Dave he says he can't see them making much difference but we have gone from the start of the virus with nobody - that is nobody bar those that wear a condom when sleeping alone just to make sure - wearing them to them suddenly being compulsory in shops, etc.

If they really did make such a difference we'd surely have been wearing them all along.

I'm happy to go with many of the experts and the experience of Dave and ditch the masks.

I wear a mask wherever I have to before anybody gets on their high horse.

I’d say there was a sea shift in regards to mask wearing, something quite common in South Asia where there are lots of coronavirus about.

If people feel safer wearing one, then live and let live, if you don’t want to wear one, then same again. But I think it’s now become part of our culture and no-one will bat an eye should you wear one as your preference.
 
I’ve been pro mask from the start.

Disappointed the Gov never got their arse into gear to upscale medical grade mask production or to inform the public about mask best practice, etc.
Once we’ve finished this vaccination programme I’d be more than delighted to pack the things away for ever.

That’s how stupid it is. The idea that you have to wear a mask to protect others but then if you want a drink or to eat something you can take it off. Does the virus think, ‘oooooh he’s having a drink of PG Tips, I’ll leave him alone”... walk 5 yards to your table in a pub or restaurant and as soon as you sit down you can take your mask off. How stupid is it.

We’ve got vaccinated people, people with no symptoms, who are perfectly healthy, wearing a mask on the basis they are protecting others, just in case they have the virus.

Masks are pure theatre, the classic tactic of looking like they are doing something. A Poundstretcher piece of fabric or in some cases a home-made Marvel or Star Wars offering from some zany character, is that really going to save any lives? Nope. Like most of the restrictions.

Fully agree with the OP. Time to whack them in the bin, if people want to still wear them they can, because they will... “heroes don’t wear capes, they wear masks to protect others”... yawn.

Transmission is mainly in houses where people don’t wear masks, equally, teenagers and 18/25 year olds are les likely to wear masks, or social distance.

When people didn’t have to wear masks back in March - July 2020, how come there wasn’t mass outbreaks in Supermarkets? The staff should have been off all the time shouldn’t they?

There are countless videos of Whitty, ‘Fuckin Hopeless’ and many others saying masks do nothing as late as May/June.. but then the Science changed... ahhh did it yeh...

Honestly, people are out and about trying to protect people from a disease they don't even have by wearing a random piece of cloth on their face. Some people are doing it OUTSIDE.

And they have the nerve to call us 'anti-science'.

What a cult. 😂

His opposing view didn’t count as other group members liked masks because they conveyed a message of ‘solidarity’.

I’ve still got to wear my BFC one....and probably never will....it might be a treasured antique (still in its’ sealed bag) one day😉😉😉😉

I do wear the ones when shopping that the wife made last year when this all started.....and yes they are washable and reusable made out of old unused light blue and white dress fabric with an inner lining to put fresh anti bacterial wet wipe in each use.....very fetching though I say it myself😉😉😉😀😀😀.

Communist Susan Michie wants to say that the government is doing the wrong thing whatever they do, if Boris says "masks forever" Michie will tell you that's completely unnecessary and will lead to tens of thousands of deaths.
 
Went out for a meal yesterday, with daughter & hubby, to Shard Inn. First time eating out since first Lockdown.
Had to wear a mask to go in, then obviously had to take them off whilst eating.
Does this mean that it can't spread when eating out??? 🙄
