MA is the Wrong Fit for OUR club

He has never fitted in, and never really got the fans onside never to me got our area or what we are about.
Critchley in fairness did and even with some bad performances got us onside the lull didn't last too long and we got back on track.
With MA I can't see an end to the atmosphere at games being dull. He doesn't excite us and we need excitement and positivity to help the team.
Every time we feel upbeat he kills it with a statement about injuries etc.
If we feel deflated what about the players, we what must they feel.
Managers have to work with the hand dealt and all he was to do is make excuses.
He says yesterday was fine, but it wasn't and we all know that.
We need an atmosphere next week as its a vital game, it's not a tap we can turn on and turn off, we need some inspiration first.... And he is not the man to do it.
The Board need to act to save our season..... Dobbie for me, even if its for one game.
Lets hope the board act it could be the difference of next week being between a height of enthusiasm or a toxic hell hole. We all don't want it to turn toxic for the players but sometimes our voices need to be heard to let the board know how we feel.
I genuinely hope they change this week and we go into next week with renewed hope and us all getti f behind those boys in Tangerine

100% - I'm not saying Blackpool is a unique club but we like a certain style of manager and this schmuck is not it!

He may not be .... but neither were most of our ex managers below .... so what is it we like?

A successful one? :)

Half of those played football the right way, which for Blackpool I believe is good attacking battling and actually quite straight forward football.
4-4-2 - proper Captain - one or two full bloodied players - plenty of pace down the wings - proper goalscorer and a couple of characters.
Oh and a Manager that looks like he cares!

For me the most important thing is to take ownership... If you are here, then you know the score... You know that it's a low budget and you know you're going to have to get creative... You STOP talking about and focusing on "Other Club's Budgets" and you focus on creating a winning mentality by building up the individuals that you have, understanding appreciating and capitalising on their strengths etc..

They need to absolutely buy into who we are and what we are about as a club and understand how to use that to maximum advantage...

We always hark back to Holloway and to Billy Ayre, but both in their way were absolutely perfect as Blackpool Managers.... Holloway in some ways moreso than Billy because he actually had such a unique way of putting things into words.. He understood the town, lived here, went out drinking locally, engaged with the public, wasn't phased by the whole 'small club' bollocks... In fact didn't accept it and looked beyond it...

We all know what our fans are like.... We are absolutely mental... But just like Holloway was, were also a bit Bi-Polar in fact when you think about it Blackpool as a Town is a bit Bi-Polar .... Lively and mad as hell in the Summer ... Desolate & quiet and a bit depressing in the Winter...... Critchley managed to connect well enough and to understand the town and the club well enough but Appleton has never got it from day 1.... He's as far from Blackpool Culture as you could imagine... He'd perhaps go down well in Yorkshire or East Lancs, but not here...

You've got to have personality and belief to take on Blackpool...

Holloway's first press conference was basically 'I'm going to try and get us promoted'.

Appleton's was 'they over achieved last season'.

Good post. In Ben’s sit down interview when Critch bailed, he said they would get someone who understood the town, the Club and the fans.

I’m gonna throw this out there and say I don’t think that’s Michael Appleton 😆

That said, our fanbase needed to get over themselves once he was here. Pathetic from far too many.

It’s just not him at all… He just looks and feels awkward. You’d struggle to find a bigger mis-match if you tried really.

That said, the fans should have probably given him more of a chance, maybe they still should, but it doesn’t really work like that.☹️

Of course, a comprehensive win on Saturday combined with a Barry Fry style celebration and who knows 😂

Barry Fry at Birmingham pissed on the four corner flags to lift a gypsy's curse.

Is that the celebration you have in mind?

Hmm, more like the Soviet version of history. Holloway talked of 'baby steps.' He wanted to turn the minus 11 goal difference into a positive.
I don't disagree with your understanding of Appleton's introductory assessment.

With his record of failing at this level you'd think he'd be trying to grasp another chance with both hands but instead he just gives the impression that he's too good for all this.
You've hit the nail on the head here. He just gives off the impression that he doesn't care. For instance losing 2-0 to Watford with barely a shot on goal and he says he was quite pleased.

If you are going to lead you need to instill belief in those under you and have energy and enthusiasm. He doesn't seem to have any of that

Larry I was excellent. Perfect Ten.
McMahon was a great period given the circumstances.
Bowyer did a good job albeit at a bad time. Fair play for what he managed to do.

Brill post BFC x 3.

We live and die for being the underdogs who have this silly strange belief. Quirky players. And we make it work.

The day we start moaning about resources. We might as well give up.

I actually think we’ve got the quirky players with this group and they need someone to bring it out. Holloway, with the same mindset he had first time round, I’m sure could make it work. After Grayson and Appleton though it’s a big risk.

This all reminds me of The BBC show The Traitors - we're all the Faithful but who are the Traitors.
Sadler - Faithful
Mansford - Traitor
Appleton - Traitor

Get them kicked out before they take us down!

Yet someone said the managers decision was Sadlers choice and Mansford wasn't keen....
