Absolute toshHow many goals and how often does he hold up play should be the question and the answer is mostly rarely .On a very odd occasion he does it and this is usually against small or weak players .

In the 20 games Gaz has started this season we have WON 4 LOST 9 DRAWN 7Does any one know what the win & losses
are when Madine plays.
Pretty sure MM prefers a 3-5-2 but none the less it's a 2 up frontIt's quite simple, play him alongside Yates in a 4-4-2
Yes. I do sort of. Last season we scored and won more with him than without him for definite.Does any one know what the win & losses
are when Madine plays.
He's got as good record in the air as almost anyone in the league and right up there for strikers. Its OK @td53, I'll take this
Even if that information was available, I doubt it would tell the full story anyway.
tbf I'd say he wins the majority of aerial duels (strangeley he wins a few on his chest), but under MA in particular there hasn't been anyone close enough to him to receive the knock down or nod on, because they've been out on the wing.
Additionally we've tended to hoof it a bit more often when Madine plays, and if it's not near him, he doesn't have the pace to make a good challenge v the CB.
He's one of the quickest thinking players in the squad. You don't play at this level at his pace without being so.When Poveda played off of him in the Sheffield United game he was absolutely phenomenal. The key to Madine is getting players in and around him for the knockdowns, letting more mobile players press for him and letting him do the dirty work for the mobile players. Under Appleton we’ve not regularly seen attacking players playing with Madine as they’ve often been playing deep to make up for being overrun in midfield and poor defending generally. A more attack minded manager and likely a manager willing to be that bit more direct or quicker in the transition from defence to attack will see the best from Madine. In fact that speed of transition will likely suit the whole squad.
You're missing the point completely. It's a team game. If he's holding up and bringing others into play, then he's doing his job. It’s all well and good talking about his holding the ball up, winning headers etc but people seem to overlook the fact that he is a striker whose job is to score goals. Sadly he fails on that front.
Last time I mentioned this he scored the following game so I hope this is an omen..
but he does score goals so your point is not relevant. So in other words Wiz you are happy to have a striker who doesn’t score goals.
Agree. We will look back in league one and say didn’t he hold the ball up well. It’s all well and good talking about his holding the ball up, winning headers etc but people seem to overlook the fact that he is a striker whose job is to score goals. Sadly he fails on that front.

Completely agree about the lone striker.Agree. We will look back in league one and say didn’t he hold the ball up well.
He either plays in a front two but not as a lone striker for me.
Player of the season? 4 goals and a striker…Player of the season so far and it's not even close. Even rewarded with the armband.
We got promoted with Jerry playing off him, and that's the system where we've had most success imo
8 direct goal involvements in 22 games isn't bad in a struggling team.Player of the season? 4 goals and a striker…
He does, and gets others scoring too.So in other words Wiz you are happy to have a striker who doesn’t score goals.
Stanley Matthews didn't track back, didn't score goals, yet is feted as this country's greatest ever forward. You'd drop him because he wasn't scoring goals. So in other words Wiz you are happy to have a striker who doesn’t score goals.
