Mark Warburton

I think the longer this situation continues the more I feel he could be the right fit for us. If he
is prepared to travel north then he could be a good option for the club.

Not sure if this has been commented on but Farke, who was T'Rovers radar has gone to Borussia Munchengladbach. So Warburton may be on their wishlist but hardly rates a mention on their Message board. I think he is a long shot but Warburton would be a great appointment.

Positives for Warburton are:
his Championship experience,
reputation for developing young players,
gets the best out of older players,
probably wouldn't be looking to move again
and he favours attacking football. (I sound like his agent 😀)
Against are his age, (that's just my preference for a young manager) and possibly his unwillingness to move "up North".
He's not that old! Anyway he could get in a young number two. Someone with good coaching qualifications maybe from a prem academy set up who's worked with top u23s. 😉

Like Keith Southern 👍.
I'm really starting to like this.

I remember us playing Brentford at Bloomfield road a few seasons ago when he was manager; they passed us off the park and it was brilliant football. Somehow we managed a draw. I will never forget it and I thought at the time that I would love to see Blackpool play like that.

His bread isn't bad either.

Are you being serious?
His experience in making nice crumpets passed down through generations was totally undermined by him trying to think outside the box by making giant crumpets that don’t even fit in my toaster, it’s a big fat booo from me, I hope he goes bankrupt as I’m certainly not going to invest in a giant crumpet toaster with a recession on its way
Evatt has proved to be a good Manager, however he isn't a great manager, BWFC fans are mixed on him , he will keep Bolton up but always mid table.

He was at rangers 2015-2017 so moving up north isn't an issue..he's also experienced the Bloomfield road atmosphere this year...what's not attractive about that. Good owners aswell ,new training ground, stadium development all on the up. Also the money from villa for 5 years left on NC contract will help with wages for a few years too.

Good ! Let’s get a petition up, oh & don’t get me started on those extra large wotsets (can’t think how to spell them)because they were another change in my lifestyle & eating habits that I’m struggling to get my head around

Mark Warburton, affectionately known as ‘The Bread Man’ among QPR supporters, took charge in 2019 and lasted three years.

His contract was out this summer and the club felt time to make a change. In his three seasons, Warburton delivered steady Championship finishes and almost guided the R’s to a top-six finish last time round – all of which on a tight budget – and many were sad to see him leave.

He also helped to develop some really promising young players, whilst helping to better some existing names at the QPR.

His football was entertaining – Warburton favoured attacking football but one main criticism of him at QPR was that his side were always defensive leaky. That could be down to a lack of funding in the transfer market, however.

All of the above then; Warburton’s ability to deliver steady Championship finishes on a tight budget, his ability to work with, and better younger footballers, and his eye for entertaining football, could make him the perfect fit for he Bloomfield Road vacancy.

What kind of manager the club will look for this summer remains to be seen. But Warburton is on the market and proven, and so this could yet prove to be a really shrewd appointment for Blackpool.

I think, sadly, he'll be out of our price range, and the next boss will be another younger, left field appointment, similar to Critchley.

What was started when NC arrived won't be torn up and a new plan implemented; it'll still be identifying young promising players from the lower leagues being brought in to improve and progress.

Feel like he might not have ever been considered by the club either because they A) Wanted someone younger or B) His wages were too high

That's what he said when I spoke to him 6 months ago.
If Evatt applies he'd be a pretty strong candidate. Sadler will be smarting from Critchley quitting, and Mansford was visibly smarting a bit in the video. The lure of someone who wants the job because it's Blackpool, with heart connections to the club, might be very tempting. For Critchley it was just an opportunity to break out of U23 football into senior football. Thus temporary.

Is Evatt ready for Championship management? Only one way to find out!

I'd love it if he was ready for us, and us for him. I'm not sure though and don't know much about his current no.2 Peter Atherton and if he'd want him to come with him. An Evo/Thommo combo might work but not sure if the Board should be telling a manager who his no. 2 should be.

They can negotiate all that before signing contracts though. Don't tell him, negotiate it. Walk away if he insists on things you're not keen on.

Age is just a number - definitely on my shortlist

And I don't think an Internet message board should be telling the BFC board who to appoint 😉👍🏻

I was watching a Youtube vlog from a non- Blackpool person who identified Mark Warburton as the man to replace NC. With all the planned investment going into the club in the next few years we have to give priority to a Head Coach who has the best chance of keeping us in The Championship. I believe this is our man he will have head start in identifying the players we need and the best system to deploy with the existing squad. There would be clear pathway for Warburton to become a Technical/Sporting Director in 2-3 years time with him mentoring a young assistant.

Yes he is probably out of our league but I think as a club we need to think bigger than appointing a lower division manager with the hope he might come good.
