Martyn Waghorn

You would think we would be the last set of fans to complain about having an experienced forward given who we have had in the past.

If he comes then send Beasley out on loan, and decide to either give Holmes a real chance at the first team or being in another young lad with potential. I wouldn’t argue with that as our 4 strikers.

He always seems a tenacious hard case handful to me. On the right terms he'd be an asset in my book.
If Derby want him, then I doubt he'll come to Blackpool - surely he's their prodigal son?
By way of further comparison - a mate of mine supports Derby and apparently, they've sold circa 22,000 season tickets so far.

I can't see this one happening, he lives in Derby, his lad is part of Derby's academy and he's been playing for Derby in pre season. In all honesty I wouldn't be upset if we didn't get him. Experienced he may be but I have never particularly rated him.

According to what I've read Derby have a preferred alternative to Waghorn if they can land him and probably wouldn't want to sign them both.

If clubs are in the lookout for an experienced striker, they will all be looking at the same players:

1. Billy Sharp
2. Chris Martin
3. Martin Waghorn

No L1 club is exactly pulling up trees this last couple or weeks.

From Gazette:

"Blackpool-linked Martyn Waghorn is poised to sign for Derby County on a free transfer, as per a report by DerbyshireLive. The 33-year-old, who was released by Coventry City earlier this summer, has been training with the Rams over recent times. He is now set to put pen-to-paper on a deal with the Rams as they look to bolster their attacking options."

Thank heavens for that.
