Pool won’t set this league on fire, but they have enough to survive. They were immense today, but they understandably ran out of gas towards the end. Yates and Lavery remind me of Paul Dickinson, real pests, but sharp. This team looks like it’s taking shape.’

I’ve been far from his biggest fan but he was superb today.
He looks far better in the middle so hopefully this is a wake up call for NC and the board that the players that get brought in are specific to the role and position required.

Marvin was our best CB last season and showed today that he's likely to be the best this season! There wasn't a poor performance from anyone today, 11 men on the pitch would have given us 3 points!

Bowler was quiet first half but was excellent second half ...he is a real talent...I thought everyone did ok but personally I thought Keshi had a great game and was everywhere. Marv has played his way into the team for the forseeable.

Got to disagree. Smith won the majority in air, as he will against the majority (if not all) defences this season. The sending off was because Connolly was covering Keogh. Don’t get me wrong, he got caught out and was the wrong side, but, he should never be that narrow in the first place. Especially when Keogh isn’t marking.
Totally agree. Looked so much better deeper and abke to break the lines with his strong running.
Ballard was our best CB last season and was the best CB on the pitch today.

Rubbish, Marvin, quite rightly, kept Ballard out of the side last season, until he got injured! Ballard was good but Marv was so much better... and was today too!
Fair enough. I think Marv was getting into his groove before his injury. However, he was fit and ready for the run in and we stuck with the Ballard and Husband partnership or the back 3 with without Ekpiteta.
I'm very glad Marv's playing now as he's our best defender.

Critchley needs to stop believing he can coach anyone to do anything. If we had the squad of do anything play any position players he seems to think, they would all be worth millions. He needs to look up the meaning of square pegs and round holes.

Really hope the next two weeks give us an opportunity to get Gretarrson, Stewart and Madine all back 100% fit and raring to go, we add to the defence and Critch can pull a couple of loans out of the bag.
